I just looked at the "Great Eight" schedule. It looks like most cubs are sending their B teams. Is my assumption correct? If true, what happened?

Welcome to what the rest of us deal with when we share school fields with YJ's. The individual selfish play doesn't look or feel too good right? If anyone goes to the cage that many times they are going to get lost of goals

There are some coaches who can coach a team where their daughter (or son) is on the team and do a really good job. However, KW is not one of those coaches. She has clear conflicts of interest and she is not a good coach.

Just so you know, it wasn't KW making the line changes, it was the young woman coach.

Which one? There are two.

Curcio drives the bus, the others are there for there kids and the TG kids they brought with them. Fact is they were badly out coached in the Heroe's game, they played each other already and yj won, Heroes made adjustments and yj coaches hit the panic button

Great post! Yes 2020 is falling apart for some, probably going great for many others. Yes it stinks to be a player watching from the sidelines during crunch time, with several kids I have been in same position many time. I recommend you take the high road. I also firmly believe people anonymously pile on these threads from other clubs or lower teams making these situations appear much worse than they actually are. Good luck to all the players.

Reading comprehension folks it wasn't crunch time it was the entire two days, pool play and playoffs. They looked bad in two pool play games and lost in the finals with this "best chance to win line-up" IT DID NOT WORK THEY LOST! Coaches got out coached and they out smarted themselves. If it aint broke don't fix it. lots collateral damage to repair

If that is the case you and your daughters now know where you stand in the travel team pecking order. With 23 field players someone has to sit out on a double shift every time they sub. Why would an organization put that many players on a roster? It is a nightmare for the coaches and worse for the kids. There is only one ball and apparently only 12 that deserve to get a touch of it. Many would probably prefer to have only 18-20 kids on a team and pay more $ than have to sit out and barely play.;;

Seriously get a life . First tournament of the year , won all their games including wins over sky walkers, heroes, MD etc then lost in overtime to a good heroes team. Good games all around and glad to see at least 1 long island club willing to go to new tournaments to seek out the best competition. Out coached , maybe , hopefully next time they play their coach will actually be there . Congrats to Heroes 2020 , two close competitive games . Interesting that the team that was losing at the half in each game came back to win it.

How exactly did she treat you like a second class citizen? Any and all teams playing this weekend are on their own. CR had nothing to do with setting it up. Step up to the plate and do something to help your daughter's team out. If her team is not here, it's on you!

What tourn. are we speaking about here.. as a "second class" citizen I would be interested in knowing. Maybe next year I can step up for us and organize a trip..

The 2019, 2020 and 2021 Blue teams all played in the Mid-Atlantic Spring Club Championships in Balimore this weekend. These weren't listed on website and were setup by the coaches. It was a great tournament this year with a lot of great competition.

If they are entered as YJ teams you can bet CR gave her blessing. Too much of a liability if someone gets hurt playing.

Oh no , I am sure they are so terrified that a few complaining 2020 parents are going to topple the whole club.Go watch coach Roses team and see how she runs it.

No, it won't topple the whole club. But its poor business sense (and disrespectful) to ignore legitimate complaints by parents about thow their children are being treated by coaches...even if that coach is a longtime friend. Business versus friendship/nepotism. The dollar always wins out.

Sounds like 2020 blue is a mess. Where was the head coach?

Here is a post from 10/14/14 on the 2020 thread....funny....
YJ 2020 may be stronger this year but the infighting is gonna be sick! Those parents were already crazy competitive w each other. Should be interesting...

Now Blue parents know how school team players feel when they don't get to play or touch the ball. Nice right? Now when a blue parent does it is it still considered whining? Is it because your kid isn't on the wall enough? Or is it BS just like on school teams?

School teams with no standings and the 1st tournament of the summer season with pool play seems like everyone should play in both.

Of course it was through the club. The Blue will always get the nod when the comp is going to be tough. No room for "independents" in that "Club" tournament this past weekend.

My daughter used to play YJ and ended up switching because she wanted to be with friends on a different club. I have to say, our coach has been very clear on her stance on playing time. During regular pool play, she tries her best to play everyone completely evenly, but playoffs she does play to win and some girls will see the field much more than others. I definitely agree with this concept. All girls, as long as they are paying to be there and were specifically placed on a certain team, should have the chance to play in normal games. Playoffs are extra games that are not necessarily "paid for" and therefore I don't think it's a requirement or expected for everyone to play

That's evidence of being out-coached. The winning team adjusted.

I generally agreed with you until the last sentence about the playoffs not being paid for. I would not pay all that money with no expectation of making the playoffs (i.e. they are "extra games"). If I am paying for a competitive team playing in championship tournaments, I expect to continue beyond pool play.

That's a pretty broad statement and not necessarily accurate - lots of things happen from one half to the next. It's not like the teams are going into the locker room for a half hour at the Super Bowl, sometimes at these tournaments it's just enough time for the goalies to switch ends.

YJ 2019: It is true my daughter on 2019 Blue barely played due to the coach favoring his own set without rotations. That is how our team lost in finals. Interesting thing is we heard the younger 2021 team which he also volunteered to coach experienced the same thing, zero rotations despite having a strong group all around. Good trainer-can't take that away from him but as a coach- sub par. I wonder if Carol Rose knows all the stuff that is taking place when she is not around.

This is obviously some fool from another club trying to stir the pot. The 2019 team had 2 subs with the kids all playing equal time seems like you are just trying to start nonsense.. They lost because the other team was better that day , I also think they ran out of gas . As to the out coached at the 2020 second half I think the poster meant YJ was down 5-1 at the half in pool play and came back to win, in the finals heroes was down 5-2 at the half and came back to win so I guess they out coached each other.

Hey if you are going to make up lies at least get your facts straight. Both the 2019 blue and 2021 blue played in the finals at the same time how in Gods name could this coach be in two places at once. In addition 2019 had two subs for the entire tournament so I am calling BS on you.

A's and B's. Looks like mostly B's at 2016, there are hardly any unrecruited players on the A teams at that age.

I have to laugh at the dad that tells everyone his kid is great and way better then a very good group of girls that walked away from yj. Too funny... his kid sat too. Put in emergency call to curcio. Worked a little. Kid did get more time. Pissed off more people too in the process. Wake up dad. Take off the goggles my friend. Shut up on the sidelines. Open your eyes and you will see why she sat.

Look more closely. All clubs in 2017/2018 bringing A teams plus many bringing Bs as well.

This guy was biggest trouble maker out of them all, while most parents but not parents were upset at the overall uncomfortable feeling the entire weekend from kids and parents alike. This nut would not let it go, first guy to call Curcio (worked for a bit) calmed down a bit because she played a little, but continued to try any and get other parents into arguing with him, boasted how he would be much more appreciated on TG, how his kid could be playing soccer and was much better than coaches kid who clearly being favored blah blah blah. Again while almost all parents and kids including those that did play felt very awkward around each other the entire weekend, this guy wasn't smart enough to handle it calmly. Parents were discussing it the entire weekend as they should it did affect their children but calmly, some addressed the coaches others tried to keep everyone calm. Not sure if everyone will be satisfied but should make for an interesting summer. Good luck YJ 2020 Curcio

If this person feels playing time opportunity would be any better at TG, may want to step back and look at the big picture. 2020 is the one age group where TGs is really strong. If playing time on YJ is tough to come by, why would it be any easier on TGs? 6-8th grade all these top teams have alot of developmental differences and players coming and going as the top teams settle into final rosters. Some girls step up to the task, others fall off. It leads to many upset players and parents. I've been through it many times, its stressful. Sometimes it is better to accept the reality of the situation, too many parents are blind to it. But I also agree sometimes there is a real gripe, usually a situation of daddy coach or a coach looking out for his/her town/school interests.

There was a real gripe, how children were addressed by coaches and there was zero communication to both children and parents that the past practice of how this team was previously run would now be changing was never discussed. Many parents are new to the travel environment so may have been ignorant to this process, so it may have had some bearing on what particular team or club they play for.

Posting all this on here helps no one. Yes some parents were upset and voiced that concern , some openly some in private. Coming on here bashing a parent because he was upset is not the best way to work thru this.Bashing coaches on here is not the right way to work thru it either. To say the team has not shortened the bench in the past is just not being honest and maybe your kid played more so you did not notice .The thing is many other parents and other clubs are praying that the team fails and the parents come on here and kill one another, putting the drama on here helps no one.Its pretty simple ,if your kid plays a lot be supportive but know that in the near future she may be on the side line. If your kid does not then either figure out what she needs to work on and if you think its all politics then maybe a move to another club is in order, just remember the kids on the field did nothing to your daughter so at least support them.

I for one disagree...The posts on this board give me a useful distraction while I eat my bland lunch. Very entertaining stuff on here. Keep it up please!
