You sound like such a loser and have no clue. Express has been playing these Maryland teams already since March and have no 7th graders period on the 2021. The ones with 5-6 actual 7th graders is igloo black ice. Confirmed by their schoolmates. And 91 orange has about 30 players on their team. The rest of you are just the rest of you. Don't be sore losers. But no matter what u guys say..The top 3 teams igloo, express and 91 have top notch coaching and push for top notch competition all the time. So please give it a rest.

Yep they caught us. With two local kids with names on their jerseys sounds like our team was really be deceptive. Two boys reclassing in the Fall, both late summer birthdays. Wont be 13 until late summer. Two 5th grade poles start over the 7th grade pole if that tells you anything. By no means a competitive advantage at all. But, at least you will have an excuse now. We will be sure do have all our kids report cards on hand when we play. And there was one kid that couldn't go to Florida. The rest couldnt go because of previous obligations. But with a 6/1 date now they all will be there.

If we keep moving up the cut off date no kids will have to reclass. Man up like the real sports and have kids play by birth year. Stop coddling your babies- he was young and won't turn 13 until end of summer- who cares? LI boys don't turn 13 until winter months anyway. Hockey and baseball does it right- none of this pansy stuff- you can compete with your own birth year or you can't. If you can't there are other options. You can't hack it in school? No issue- repeat but you still play with your birth year. What is it with parents making kids so soft???

And for the record- who cares if they are reclassing in the Fall??? They have not yet- put the kids where they belong until they do.

Right how its summer kids reclassifying for an advantage. But if a kid born in July repeats a year to get a physical advantage, would not the same apply to a kid born in Jan? Like recruiting that keeps getting younger soon 7th grade teams will be filled with 15 year olds. Well if you reclassifying Jimmy then Bobby is doing the same thing.

Unless lacrosse starts to implement the procedures football follows then you're beating a dead horse... Who cares!!! 2 players don't make a team. This has to be a outlaw parent stirring the pot to justify the whopping they took.

Why express has them too? As long as their birthdates qualify what's the problem?

You're an [lacrosse]. Was the game billed as u13 or 2021. If 2021 that is the issue. All must be 2021 not 2020 at the time.

If it was billed as 2021 it is cheating. But Lacrosse refuses to enforce any of the age rules anyway. I have never seen such an obvious disregard of concern. What is it going to take? At least football and baseball show interest in actually enforcing some age rules.

Ever heard of Integrity? Entire team of Parents apparently have none. You can blame the coach for allowing it, but every Parent on team should be ashamed and embarrassed for knowingly allowing it.

The Advisory Board of the Mid-Atlantic Spring League recently determined that the Rising Sons 6th grade team had been playing this entire spring with two 7th graders on their roster. The rules of Mid-Atlantic Spring League strictly prohibit players from competing in divisions below their grade level The rule on this point was made clear to all clubs multiple times prior to the beginning of league play this Spring. First, the rule was set forth in the initial email welcoming teams into the league. Second, League Directors reviewed the rule on a conference call with all coaches, refs, and club directors participating in the Spring League. And, finally, the rule was reiterated in an email from the League Director in the week before the league initiated on March 15th.

Accordingly, we have determined that the conduct of the Rising Sons 6th grade team constitutes a flagrant violation of clearly communicated league rules. When directly asked about the situation, the Rising Sons club director confirmed the violation.

In response the league will take the following measures:

1. The Mid-Atlantic Spring League does not crown champions, and is more about player development than winning, but as a matter of principle the Rising Sons 6th grade team will forfeit all wins in the league in which ineligible players participated. Those games will be scored as 1-0 defeats per Federation rules.

2. The two 7th graders in question will not be allowed to play in the 6th grade division for the remainder of the league

3. The Rising Sons 2021 coach is barred from coaching in the league for the remainder of the season.

The Mid-Atlantic Spring League was founded to give like-minded programs that focus on year-round player development an opportunity to play fair and competitive games against each other. This principle fails if clubs are not willing to follow the agreed-upon rules. The league will adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards intentional violations of the age rules going forward, and reserves the right to permanently ban any future violators.

Let's play the remainder of the season honoring the game, your opponent and the officials.

But I guess this is an isolated incident and the 7th grade team that played last weekend was totally legit? Yeah right...

9/1 should be the date. period. same as school. if you chose to hold you kid back for perceived/real/necessary reasons/advantages, no problem, but if he is going to compete in youth sports, especially contact sports, he should compete with and against kids his own age. Tough to have it both ways--advantages of being older but forever competing with and against kids not necessarily his friends in school because he is in a different grade--well, something to consider with your next child then... it does all work itself out once they are in college and have all matured and grown but not at the youth level--there is a DISTINCT advantage in prepubescent and pubescent years for kids that are older--even 9 months--forget about 18 months. Its just not right.

Good for the Mid-Atlantic Spring League.

If it's a grade based tournament, you simply should not be able to play with a kid in an older grade, regardless of age (without a waiver).

PS - I think it's crazy - generally - to reclass to repeat 7th grade. No problem with that kid that age going into a younger grade as a 4-5 year old. Sad that it makes sense lacrosse-wise. Look at the registrations for Summer Exposure and it's incredible how many 2021 teams can't qualify for the U12 (U13B) division or 2018 teams can't qualify for U15.

PPS - I think it's BS that [lacrosse]'s is moving from an 8/1 cutoff date to a 6/1 cutoff date. That means, in December 2016, I could add one of my former 2020's to my U13/2021 team. He's already a total man among boys at age 12. At age 14 in the Fall of his 9th grade year, he'll be probably starting his second season of playing HS football, basketball and lacrosse. That's insane.

Its ok for Freedom 2020 to have a kid who turned 14 in February and is the biggest kid in the league? Talk about principles? Liteally 5'10" and 190lbs. Playing against 12 year olds? that makes sense.

Really 14 and playing 2021. My son is 14 and playing 2018. Wont be 15 for 5 months. This is getting out of hand. He was a late bloomer also and now is 6foot 150. So I cant imagine a 14 year old who might have hit puberty early playing vs 11 year olds.

Probably not from the league. Leagues do not like to have egg on their face. My opinion is it is true, but factually I can't confirm.

How sad that they felt the need to cheat. Makes you question all their other teams, as kids have said they were older during conversations on the field, while coaches and parents denied it. If you ask me, Sons are shady . It's a shame because they seemed like a good start up club with good intentions. Now their teams and wins will always be questioned.

Bottom line , if playing older boys wasn't an ADVANTAGE
Then why do it? Stop telling us how many 5th graders you have, thats honorable but to then think balancing the roster with 7th graders makes it ok is a disgrace. The coaches and Parents that allow this and put kids in a dangerous situation should ask themselves would they like to have their sons play vs older more mature boys. I think we know the answer It's going to take a major injury caused by a player that is playing Down and results in a lawsuit where the coach and parents are held accountable for the injury for this to stop.
Have integrity people!

Maybe if you saw the kids their size, skill and age you wouldn't be so judgemental. They are younger than many other kids in the league.

Unfortunately the Director of their program has sent an email out stating that "holding kids back is what all the top clubs do" and he feels no remorse. He was seen on the sidelines last weekend telling another team "you do not belong on the field with us"....this was said to 6th graders.

Rising Sons was caught cheating and cares about nothing but their 2021 team and if they win. Their kids play arrogant and currently they are attempting to defame every other club program in Philadelphia. Their director sent an email out stating that "The Sons Changes Lives"....CRAZY!!

Reclassing is not the issue. The issue is allowing a 5th grader who may reclass to start playing 4th grade lacrosse now as opposed to waiting until he actually moves back.

Don't know who or what BH is but I do know nothing that has been said on here about Rising Sons is inaccurate. I thought they would be good for the area but once I watched them recruit, calling kids and parents over and over and over, and also talking to kids at tournaments playing for other teams my opinion changed. It's unfortunate that they have such a bad reputation because their teams are good, it will all change when news of their integrity problems get out.

Sons just got caught cheating, funny how the first message says they have no reclassed kids but were just caught for them last week! Not only were they caught but their owner said everyone does it and they shouldn't be punished for it....liar liar
