This is untrue. There is no kid that was listed on YJ 3rd team that is now on 1st. One kid moved from 2nd to 1st but she played on the 2nd team last year. So stop being upset that your daughter is on the 3rd team or that your daughter is on the 1st and will now lose playing time to a more deserving kid.

Understandable if she was a more deserving kid. But she isn't, there are 5 or more that were better than her that are still on the 2nd team.

SO QUIT. You will be paying $4,000- $5,000 in a year or two once big time travel kicks in. What lunatic would pay that much money to a business they were unhappy with? You are the consumer, you get to choose. It's like CR has a death grip on you. People still begging to give her all that money to play on the 3rd, 4th 5th 6th team with a part time college girl as a coach. If you aren't on the top 2 teams for whatever reasons (skill or politics) move on!

Not true anymore. There are 3rd team girls committed to colleges. Very good schools too. YJ has swallowed so much of the market that 3rd teams are getting looks.

It is just an example of the way things get done in YJ land. There is no leaving, our team is very strong. It is just very frustrating seeing undeserving players get placed on a team because the father cries about it. It happened two years in a row with this family.

The contention was that she made the 3rd and her dad called to get her moved. This is untrue! She is a very good player. Could she interchange with a couple others from the 2nd maybe but 5 better is not the case. Could the top 5 from the 3nd change with bottom 5 of 1st yes.

I disagree and so will the majority of the blue team, she is not a good player not even for the 2nd team, she only has one side, can't go left, can't catch or pass left, drops a ton of passes. She is average at best. I will give you that she is fast, but again absolutely no left side.

THere is a reason why the girls didn't pass to her in the tryouts, it is because she has trouble catching.

We don't want to deal with the father either, he walks around like he is ready to snap someone's neck all the time.

Its very classy to single out a 12 year old girl on the message board and having no balls by signing it anonymous. I'm sure the YJ Directors are proud to have low lifes like yourselves in their organization. Your setting a great example for your girls.

The Directors don't care...as long as you can be intimidating and put the ball in the net! Just win, baby!!!

The directors don't care, they have stuck 25-26 on the 2020 and 2021 blue teams, these are the teams that other organizations are reducing the size of their top teams. The have 28 on the second team of 2022, that is sure to be a great experience for those girls, enjoy play 8 minutes each in 4 games. That's a total of 32 playing minutes for a one day tournament (figuring 25-30 minute games) and 16 minutes of playing time each in 4 games (figuring 50 minute game, 2x25 minute halfs). So that's just over an hour of game time, in a tournament when you have to drive several hours, get a hotel room for at least one night. That will be a frustrating experience for those families. It is bad enough when there are 24 on a team, but 28 wow!

Hey LI Express is having another girl's tryout, may not be the YJ and I'm not sure about the coaching, but your kid will play a whole bunch more.

They have 6 teams in some age groups with 26 kids on a team do the math, that is huge money. Then figure in that they charge us $100 a tournament and the C&T run half of the tournaments we play in so its a double dip. The fact that the rosters are soooooooo big is just insulting.I agree with the poster that said

I dont live in Northport so I'll move on if necessary. as was said earlier in this thread bbeing on another clubs A team is better then dying on the vine here

*Can the loser parent who keeps complaining (anonymous) about the YJ program either shut the F up & tell your kid to work on the stickwork or leave the F..n program. If you don't belong to the YJ family then shut the F up b/c you don't know what you are talking about. If you are YJ family then see above (leave YJ/work on stickwork of shut the F up). Just reading the last comment I can only imagine how you will be bringing up your kids in life. Complaining about everything in life! Next thing you will say socialism is great, everyone should be taxed 90% & every kid should play equal amount regardless of talent. YJ: 3 out 4 teams nationals 2014-Boom! (Disclaimer - this is the 1st time i've ever logged on this p.o.s BackCage chat & last time-If this site showed true names/emails I doubt you would talk smack, especially about kids which is disgusting-get a life or a job)

The person who said you will play 30 minutes a tournament is spot on. Drive to MD to play in 30 minute games with a roster of almost 30. And 99% of the girls go to every tournament so there will always be a full roster. Driving to Mitchel Field is one thing but 10 hours round trip plus two night stay for 30 minutes is tough to take.

Are you saying that there's no nepotism in the organization? If so, you are delusional. If the best 24 girls played for top team, second best 24 girls played second team, and so on... the teams would be drastically different. There are girls on my daughters team that clearly should not be there and I've seen it on several other teams as well. It's 75% talent and 25% who's [lacrosse] mommy and daddy kiss. This coming from a 5 year YJ parent.

Some girls will not play at all. The better girls will play significantly more especially against the better teams and closer games. If you are on the bottom half of the 30 girls, field time will be limited. Those rosters are wayyyyyy too big!

you're pounding your chest over the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place sweep in Colorado last summer as an excuse to have 6 teams in an age group and 28 girls on a 5th grade team? yeah we all can quit and shut the F- up but take a deep breath.. that is Bull s...
The money grab is in full effect.. kids be damned..the issue is not how good those 5th grade girls are its the fact that that the roster is bursting at the seams...c'mon man.

yeah I counted...there are 652 girls rostered for the summer

some might be Elite, but not all 652..

Only solution is to organize top recruiting events close to home. We pay for club lacrosse so our recuiting age kids are seen and that means MD, VA and NJ.

I am sure it is way more than 1 parent complaining. THe thread has had Over 18 million views, almost 8500 posts and close to 50% are negative. Doubt there is one or even 10 people complaining, probably way more. Probably close to 20-30% of JY parents are unhappy. The YJ is not a family its a facade. A bunch of people pretending they are happy and forcing smoles in one another's presence.

I could have coached that team, all you had to do was sub that group of studs, [lacrosse] I could most of the top YJ teams, my kid doesn't get much from a former YJ now part time college player as coach. Just because you can play, doesn't mean you can teach. The lower YJ teams have a real problem, those kids need real instruction and these 20 year old girl coaches aren't getting it done

I saw one guy sign his name to a post a week or so ago. He got lit up on here. Probably not a good idea to jump into the anonymous sandbox as the only know entity. There are sites like that where only registered users can post. Everyone is much more pleasant and respectful in discussions. Discussions tend to be much more general. On the other side, as mean and nasty as these forums do get( and I hate when they target individual kids), some of the crap that get spewed is the dead on truth. And much of it is jealousy rearing its ugly head. Any which way, very entertaining.

I agree, discussing the girl is off limits. However, the 2021 Blue team now has 25 players and did not have that many for their first two years so there was no spot to fill. The beauty of this team has been a very low maintenance group of parents and girls that generally all get along without the drama. If what is on here is true, the dad needs to tone it down or he we get run very quickly.

Former bodybuilder/lifter, shady dealings in the "supplement business" in his competition days

I seem to remember him coaching the 2011 Blue team which was arguably the most talented team YJ ever had.

NO one seems to care about 20 year old coaches who are away at school. MOre parents are signing kids up every year

Really??? Dummy??? Well I now know that your daughter is not on the 2021 Blue team as not one of our parents would act like this,If she is, lets see who you are then, at our first winter game next Saturday announce yourself so we all know who has the big mouth! Calling out an 11 year old girl is pathetic! I have never posted here until I read your trashing of an 11 year old girl, If that's what goes through your mind why bother with the Yellow Jackets? take your daughter to another program where she will play more! Why put yourself through this?d

I can't speak for other teams ( apparently you are capable of this) but my experience has been nothing but positive on YJ 2021 Blue. Great parents great kids. I suspect you are not from this club and enjoy taking shots at YJ.

When is the moderator of this site going to take responsibility and block this garbage. This is a breading ground for the low class. Be bigger than that! Make this something of value and something that doesn't embarrass the entire lacrosse community. If you don't, you are no different than the person or persons writing the comments. This platform is nothing short of disgusting and although I hope there are NO kids that read this, the hurtful, vengeful, nasty banter will no doubt come back and hurt these ladies inadvertently. It doesn't matter what is written because none of it has an ounce of credibility. It is the idea that these kids know this opportunity to be vengeful anonymously exists in the adult community that makes it vile! Stop allowing the small group of nasty, insecure people to be the face of the lacrosse community and represent the majority of good people.

I don’t see how bringing in a DADDY coach with no LAX experience is any better than having a 20 year old college LAX player. Either way, it appears that a lot of folks weren’t happy with the situation on the 4th 2019 team, because a lot dropped out.
