Congrats to all the girls from all the clubs. You can rip CR and YJ all you want but they produce players no doubt. Don't know if it comes from various team selections, press coverage or maybe even the fact that in YJ they have names on jerseys, but they do a very good job with getting players to be known quantities.

YJ gets the top athletes that is what makes the program good. But only so many top players can play at once. Better players that may not be getting the time have to go somewhere else to develop their potential rather than sit on the bench just to say they are a YJ. Case in point Taylor Moreno, Elevate; Katie Reily, Elevate; Katie Muldoon, TG.

All of these lists skew toward the more recognizable clubs and programs across all sports. Do you really think USA today and Under Armor and Nike and msg varsity really know these kids especially the ones near the bottom? A Wave kid probably has to be twice as good as a YJ to make the list.
Great job by any kid on ANY list but the "name game" definitely plays a part. Politics are everywhere

Women's lacrosse is such a great sport to watch . There are truly some amazing kids who are so gifted athletically. Thank you for sharing your daughters with the rest of us. In no time they will be heading off to college and starting the next chapter of their lives. Please take the time to enjoy these wonderful young ladies. Enough with knocking another person down for whatever perceived shortcomings they may have. These are our daughters and they will be gone before you can blink an eye. Hug your daughter when she gets home. I guarantee you will feel better than when you spend time online. ENJOY THE WEEKEND!

They all avoid them. Unless coaches choose to schedule them as a non-league or scrimmage.

B has alot of good teams with the exception of DP and Com whereas A is split between good and bad. C is also split between good and bad and the top of C compares to the top of B

I thought box scores don't tell the truth? Like the Maryland Hofstra game. Get over yourself Mr. Know-it-all.

I thought box scores don't tell the truth? Like the Maryland Hofstra game. Get over yourself Mr. Know-it-all. Box scores? What are you talking about? Picked the two teams from the Finals last year in div 2, added two teams that dropped from Division 1. I didn't have any horses in the race last year. You can argue for any team that made semis last year too. Don't remember off hand, but do think it was Sayvile/ESM in the finals last year if I remember correctly. So add whoever else you think belongs in the conversation, I am sure there must be a half dozen teams that could take the division.

That is what is great about this sport, many small schools can put together very strong teams. Look at Mt. Sinai's recent run. You could put them against any of the larger school powerhouses and they compete.

I have been told by parents of certain districts that their own district won't pull 7 th, or 8th or whatever up because its against their policy, mostly to justify that their daughters not getting pulled up. Then to see them pull from these grades a year or two later. Some district constantly pull up, some seemingly never and some only when a truly special player comes along, I support the last scenario.

Some pull up based on merit, some pull up based on needing roster bodies

the state gives each school district the latitude of whether or not they will pull any middle school players.
If the school district allows a child to be pulled up they have the say on who is allowed to take the test, or if they will only take up am 8th grader or if they have to pass the Jv or Varsity portion of the Selection Classification test.
Now if your school district doesn't allow a 7th grader but does allow an 8th grader you can petition the BOE to allow 7th graders. Or if the district doesn't allow any Middle school kids you can petition the BOE.
but good luck petitioning the school against the wishes of the AD.
School districts also can make a rule that they will only pull up

My district used to pull up a lot but this year changed policy somewhat. There is nothing set in any district and it can change whenever.

Actually it depends on whether or not the 7th or 8th grader plays for the HS Coaches club program. If they don't they won't get pulled up.

Our schools policy was quiet for years until some YJ parents brought it back to forefront with petitions for 7th and 8th graders to play varsity The parents thought the kids should be up because they have a bumper sticker.
I understand the call ups for roster need and ability but because you are a YJ?

If your kid is good the varsity coach will know about her. The coach ahould have a need for her on his/her team with the realization that she will play on varsity and be effective . The coach would have already reached out to you months ago to discuss the classification process with you. If you have not heard from anyone at this point the reality is your daughter may be good but not any better than what the coach already has. So she will have to play MS ball like everyone else. When her time comes maybe 8th grade maybe not all depends on the district, she will get the call up maybe to Varsity or JV . Coaches will fight for your kid if she is needed. The problem is parents fight for their kid before they are needed and it puts a bad taste in everyone's mouth from the Ad down.
