Very touching. Who cares. If you can't take the heat get out.
Otherwise what do you whiners propose?
Do you want NO involvement from anyone other than coaches?
Because your weak and can't seem to handle HS sports maybe you should find another hobby. Maybe bingo will work. Oh wait....who's gonna call the numbers and handle the markers and cards and money.....POLITICS IN BINGO TO....WAHHH
This guy must be one of those F&F people you guys talk about.

This tool must be one of those parents who's kid can't catch, run or play yet insists on dragging entire teams down. Then cries that it's all just not fair. Pathetic.

Still haven't heard of any solution to your whining issues. Because you people just love to complain and protest instead of getting involved. You sit back while others put in the time and effort and because your kid isn't as good as some others there HAS to be a reason...it can't be that she's just not that good right?? Your all a bunch of excuse making clowns teaching your kids to do the same. Please remove your Obama/Biden sticker from your Prius too. Thanks

AMEN

It's time to tell your kid to either practice and get better so you don't have to gather your very small group of other underachieving parents and protest against those that do achieve. If you can't then stop forcing her to play. She has the cool lax swag already. That's all she wanted anyway. Let her do something else she may be good at. You too.

What does a middle of the road non travel player have to do with overbearing travel parents?

Very good list. It must be rare to see a very young player who meets these criteria. Would you agree? Tunnel vision negates many kids from making the grade.

The first three categories players can work on and improve, the rest you have to be born with.

1) SKILLS- cradling, left, right, shooting, dodging, rides, slides, checking, draws, boxing, transition etc.....

2) CONDITIONING- strength and cardio.

3) Lax IQ- This goes beyond knowing the rules, gamemenship and team philosophy. There are a million do's and don'ts that only seem mastered by college players.

4) SPEED- and know how and when to use it.

5) AGILITY - The ability to change direction on a dime and leave a defender in the dust. The hand speed to check that ball out and catch it before it hits the ground. The ability to constantly put your body in the way of an attacker turn after turn. Agility may be the most important attribute a player can have.

6) Athleticism - Could have left this one off as it is just basically a term we use to define a player with the above attributes.

7) Field Awareness - Not just being aware but acting on it and taking advantage of it, making the right decision every time so the player must be unselfish which rules out about 80% of players right off the bat.

8) Aggressiveness/hustle - Please do not mistake this for go to goal disease. It pertains to aggressiveness on all around field play.

The scary part of this is it will be lost on most parents out there, with the parent goggles on.

I like it. This is a good list. I very much agree with #7. The great players have great game sense and not just tunnel vision, and not just passing to their friend.

The list is impossible and there is no player who would therefore be a great player in your opinion.

Near impossible, they call those players blue chip. Maybe a small handful from the entire Island each year.

Are you kidding? Of course there are players out there! Maybe not every good player is the best in all categories, but they are probably outstanding in several and above average and trying to improve in the others.

There is no player that makes the "right decision every time" so no that player does not exist

Great players do exist. Brady and Manning are great, yet some wrong decisions cost them at times. Lebron, Jordan are great yet make wrong decisions. Your just being a nit picking weenie.

Wouldn't doubt it. Port was really good in the 90s but has fallen off for a while.

To make it to the semis in Class A is really not that hard to do. Not a lot of competition.

Very few schools if any fire coaches for not winning. Run a clean program, keep parents quiet and its a job for life. Only us parents care about wins and losses for most coaches it is just a check.

There must be a parent with a lot of pull in Port . Usually the union takes care of the teachers who want the coaching jobs!
Lets name the top Class A schools in Nassau ..... Really Farmingdale and FAR behind Massapequa.
The Class A,B and C numbers were changed a few years ago and Class B top 4 is the best class in nassau (Manhasset ,Wantagh, Garden City and North Shore) which I think all these teams beat Farmingdale last season.

lets not forget work ethic! having all of the above skills will not make you a great player if you don't have the work ethic. a good player works as hard as everyone else. A great player works harder than everyone else.

Schedules are up on the section 8 website add Oceanside to A. Add Hicksville to B. Southside is still in A as a league game.

Will the B division have to play A in playoffs? Will Long Beach and Plainedge get a sniff of a conference championship after always getting bumped out by Manhasset & Garden City?

Let's not use the word dominate with those cream puffs in B conference. Neither LB or Plainedge are good

New rules @ college level for girlls no idea if it filters down to high school girls. My daughter texted this to me
1) Defenders can move through the goal circle while defending and defend a player with the ball from inside the goal circle (with certain restrictions that will be explained on game-day). (Appendix J -rule 1)

2) It is now legal to safely check through the sphere (Appendix J -rule 3)

#2 Ummm can anyone see the increase in head injuries?

I think they play the regular season against each opponent in these respective power conferences, but once playoffs start they go back to the traditional conferences based upon size....so Plainedge & LB will be back with GC, Manhasset, Wantagh...etc come playoff time.
