News from the Long Island Wave Girls 2014 group : The 2014 team ended their 2011 summer season at the Best of the Beach tournament with a semi-final lose to finish there with a record of 4-1-1. Their one tie came against the eventual tournament champion. Overall the 2014 team finished the summer with a 17-4-2 record. In addition to their semi final appearance at the Best of the Beach they got to the semi's at the Upper Atlantic and the Club National Championships. With two summer seasons left this team will definitely be heard from in a big way. The new players this team picked in 2011 up are all tremendous additions and made the team much better than it ever was since they joined a solid core of exceptional players with two fabulous coaches in Dawn Anselmin and Janine Pirone. As long as they stay together they will win a number of championships before moving on to excellent college careers.

"all these YJ teams lost to topguns except for 2014 blue " What is the point that top guns beat the lower level yj teams but when they play their best against yj best they lose in every age group.

scarey.....they will definately be in the running for 3-4 place in many top tournaments.at least the cuts for the 2016 age group should be easy everyone who showed up makes the top team.....so much talent jumping over to them must have had at least 25 girls trying out. Curious which age group has so much talent jumping over that they should be considered the best on long island.

All I was saying was I was familiar with some of the teams from last year and some of the new faces at try outs were very talented. Some of the teams were certainly competitive last year and with the addition of new talent will be stronger this year. The fact that these new girls came from other travel programs also would suggest that other teams are losing talent and becoming less competitive, unless they were the expedable bench players from other teams, but I don't think so. Anyway good luck to all the girls this year.

I highly doubt the best girls from blue and gold teams are leaving to play with top guns. Why would they, top guns certainly didn't prove anything with their record of wins last year - in all age groups.

Never mentioned tg's as best on LI. That's all stuff you came up with, so it must be what your thinking or worrying about.

Im talking about the tg purple team, not against yj. Saying even a team that is not as good will sometimes beat another team yj gold is a very good team!

Thats nice shooting down a team in your own organization (yj's blue vs. gold discussion). I see how nasty parents get in discussions trying to discredit other organization, now you turn against your own!
