Over hyped? The kid is a baller and deserves all of the accolades she has received. 1 of 2 2020's still remaining U19 Team, Awarded best player national tournament, earliest women's recruit ever. , Recognized by most as the best 2020 and possibly the best high school player out there. Yeah, I guess over hyped. Get over it already. Jealousy is a bad look! Please there's at least 50 kids on LI and 50 more in Maryland who would be breaking records playing HS lax in Florida. Average score in their 7 wins would be 19-4, its would be like Garden City playing Copiague every game. Well at least we know the stat padding goes on everywhere Please stop. Plenty of players padding stats in non-competitive games on Long Island. BTW, Are you implying that there are 50 players on Long Island that are as talented as the player from Florida? Please stop, the talent pool is not that deep. There are maybe 10 -15 players per class on LI that fall into the "elite" category. All of the nonsensical jealous posts will not change that. Also, HS accolades, stats and recognition have nothing to do with anything. The club circuit is where the top college programs do their recruiting, that is where national recognition such as Under Armour All-America and Inside Lacrosse Rankings are earned, that is where players compete against the best competition. I think the implication is that playing in those type games every year in HS that 50+ kids in LI and MD could put up those type of numbers very easily - it appears you're looking at the definition of stat padding BTW the club team plays in B brackets all summer and on the few occasions when the did wander into the deep end of the pool the outcome and stats looked very different The HS competition on Long Island is very weak. The power conference in Nassau is pretty strong especially the top half and there are a handful of competitive teams in Suffolk probably less than 10. Most of the games are not very competitive and there are plenty of blowout games where stat padding occurs.

Unfortunately they are spread out, Suffolk power conference would be ideal.

IDK about that... But I think there are only about 10 quality programs in Suffolk. That is not a knock on any of the other programs, it is just the reality of the sport. The sport has become a Money Sport in the sense that parents must be willing to spend a lot of money if they want their child to excel and play at a high level. Towns where the majority of players are playing club, going to private training, going to camps etc... are going to have a huge advantage. HS Teams that only have a few kids per class out on the lax circuit are going to struggle vs teams where just about all of the kids are involved year round. Average athletes who pay to play and train all year can go on to play division I college lacrosse.
Suffolk (Section XI) should absolutely establish a power conference. Blowout games help neither team.

Well the WHB kid has been let off the hook . The mullet dude coach from Northport and her desperate player who’s parents could not stop complaining about the transfer decided to put up 9 points in a 21-1 beating . Northport AD should be so proud of that dumpster fire of a coach .

Nobody ever denied that stat padding is everywhere, but when your avg score is 20-4 for 7 games can that even be called competition? Lets say for arguments sake that LI and MD each have at least 20 teams that would run wild against the florida hs circuit that American plays, isn't it very possible that 2-3 kids on any given team would have the ability to tally close to10 points every time they played one of those teams? That's potentially 200 points in a 20 game season for those kids and they should be embarrassed to brag about it

Jealousy is an ugly thing. Haters will hate but adults hating on kids is disgusting!! The TOP 2020 is an incredible player. And her club team has beat the top LI YJ teams every time they played them in the A top division at the summer tournaments also beat M&D Black as well. Spew your hate and false facts because you can’t believe that a kid from Florida has received accolades and awards that your incredibly talented girl did not get. This kid is the hardest working kid probably in the country, has an awesome lax IQ and plays 110% with all her heart. Shame on you for your hate towards this humble young lady’s success!

On a better note nice to see Riverhead and Smithtown East do the right thing . Still do not understand why the coaches of Suffolk cave to that foul mouth , mullet wearing slob .

Thats hillarious ,make up facts .The kid is good but maxed out .Watched at indoor thing and lets say unsportsmanlike at best, possibly would be considered a dirty player and the reason she was kicked out of game . If she played on LI she would be considered a good player but would not be getting the accolades she gets now . She may be the hardest working hold back in lacrosse but all that tells me is she is maxed out. She has been hyped beyond her abilities so good luck to her but at least be honest , she is not nearly as successful during her competitive summer games and if she were playing on age would be nothing special on LI .

I don't know where your facts are found-it's hilarious that you make up facts. Here' some facts for you: https://www.sun-sentinel.com/community/delray-sun/fl-drf-sp-selectlax-0110-20180107-story.htmlIt's very sad to hate on another's success-good luck to your fabulous kid. I watched the same indoor thing. The game you are referring to was one where 6 yellow cards were given to one team and 0 to the other. There was nothing unsportsmanlike and the NY team playing afterward asked what in the heck happened with the refs? One yellow was for boxing out on a ground ball? The team played 3 men down almost the entire second half and played hard to the end. This kid is targeted in club and high school games with kids taking cheap shots at her and she handles it with incredible sportsmanship. It is dirty and unsportsmanlike how kids take her out-it's definitely intentional. A hero's green player took her out hard this summer and during the yellow sat there and laughed-that is unsportsmanlike. As far as being a holdback-who cares? How many kids are held back-it's only in their best interest. She has a summer birthday-big deal. Kudos to parents who hold their kids back for multiple reasons. All LI and Maryland kids are not all playing on age. I have kids who weren't held back and too bad for them that I didn't but they are fine and I don't complain that I sent them to school younger. I think this kid will have a very successful college career. You can hate and disagree but time will show that hard work pays off whatever your age. Hate does nothing but make people bitter.

Please stop with "if she played on long island" as if the talent on the island is so vast. The player has been recognized by the top college coaches, Inside Lacrosse, Under Armour, US Lacrosse etc... as being one of the very best players in the country in the class of 2020. There are maybe 10 players, 15 max on the Island who can even be considered in the same league as her. There are not 50 or 100 players per class from long island who are considered elite by people who know what they are talking about. The number is more like 15. Jealousy is a terrible trait.

Kudos to parents who hold their kids back for athletic advantage seems like misplaced praise at best.

Sure, a great pass may lead to a Goal but a great (or even good/bad) pass is not necessarily an assist.
^If the scoring player has to dodge a defender ^If the scoring player had to move more than 4 steps ^Yes a tipped ball (by the offense) is a goal for the person who tipped it in and an assist for the person who originally shot it.
Can someone confirm these books. The stats are already rampant with bad counts.
1 or 2 "extras" can equal 16-32 a season. It adds up!

Part of the equation is that US Lacrosse likes to be able to tout how the game is growing and there are great players coming from all over the country and not just the traditional hot beds. In many cases they go out of their way to pump up a kid from Texas, FL, etc so they can pat themselves on the back for all the great work they're doing to grow the game

This is not about the kid, who is an excellent player and nice kid , its about your response .Are you too dense to see that it comes across as when other teams get a yellow card its dirty and unsportsmanlike but when your team does its the refs and just hard play. The being held back thing is a whole other matter and its interesting that you view your kids as being sent to school younger when I assume they are are actually on age.Lacrosse should move to age based not school grade like other sports in my opinion , lets see kids who are the same age play against one another, at what point is it an unfair advantage 1,2,3 years older. Kudos to parents who hold their kids back for athletic advantage seems like misplaced praise at best. Part of the equation is that US Lacrosse likes to be able to tout how the game is growing and there are great players coming from all over the country and not just the traditional hot beds. In many cases they go out of their way to pump up a kid from Texas, FL, etc so they can pat themselves on the back for all the great work they're doing to grow the game Yes, that is exactly why Syracuse, North Carolina and just about every other Top 10 school wanted her. You people have no clue.

I know that is not true but even if it were there are probably 15 other kids in the age group who are actually in the age group that can say the same thing.

She is not head and shoulders better that anyone in the top cohort, which includes about 25 girls who are interchangeable in their of talent on any given day. The reason why people are "attacking" her is that she is being put on a pedestal by certain political rankers. Anytime this is done, there will be criticism, because there are so many other girls just as deserving of this spotlight. Having a player of my own in this type of spotlight, I can tell you that it's rough at the top. You have a target on your back and people will pick apart everything your kid does. God forbid they have a bad day, which happens to everyone. Let it play out Dad or Mom, and stop commenting.

Early scoring leaders in Newsday for Nassau are all teams that begged out of the power conference and play in D2 and now are running it up against a weak schedule. the really good teams play teams with good defenses and spread the ball around.

It adds up! Who cares? HS stats do not matter. Please tell me what impact they have on anything? If you are really concerned then you should keep your daughters stats and send them to the coach if the school has incorrect stats. Who cares you ask, almost everyone on this site!

People attack because they are Jealous. They can not stand it when their kid is not recognized or when a player is considered better than their daughter.

I doubt any of the parents of girls ranked in the Top 20 - 30 are bashing the girl.

What politics? Class of 2015 # 1 Recruit was from Long Island, 2016 #1 Recruit was from Long Island, 2017 # 1 Recruit was from Long Island, 2018 # 1 Recruit was from Maryland...
This season?? High School season has very little to do with anything. The top colleges do not recruit at HS games, Inside Lacrosse does not rank players based on HS, Under Armour does not select their Senior All-American based on HS season.
I am sure it will all play out just fine, just not the way you would like it to. All of the hate, bitterness and jealousy will not change the natural order of things.
Congratulations to the player for all of the well deserved accolades. I wish her much future success.

Every time players are ranked by Inside Lacrosse or selected to an all-star team the jealous parents go on the attack. They call the IL rankings a joke, they say that Under Armour is political and they try to knock the players and diminish the honor.
Every year it looks like 90% of the players who are ranked in the Top 40 and who are named UA All-Americans go to the Top 10 - 15 college programs. These programs appear to be the best every year. The same programs consistently outperform the other 100 or so programs. If the accolades are a joke and political why do college coaches from the best programs seem to identify the same players as being the best?

Here is the thing with that and its not sour grapes , the same kid got the MVP award at the school girls tournament , the thing is she did not play in the A division or even the B division. Its a little ridiculous that a kid playing against lesser competition gets the MVP ,looking back it has never happened before and the MVP has always been selected from the A championship division. If you dont think politics are involved in that you are just not being honest.
