Is he a good kid that the coaches would want around? Are you a pain in the? Do you like the organization? Is your kid going to bust his behind during tryouts and work hard now to get better?

Lots of variables. And at this age kids can get better very quickly if they do the work.

But being on someone's A team is really better, but why not let your kid take a shot, you really don't have much to lose and could use it as a teachable moment.
