MSG Varsity to Air Live 121st Woodstick - Garden City vs. Manhasset
MSG Varsity will provide live HD coverage of the 121st Annual Woodstick Classic between Garden City and Manhasset -- the oldest uninterrupted public school lacrosse rivalry in the nation -- live this Saturday, May 5, starting at 4:00 pm (face-off at 4:30 pm) on MSG Varsity, Cablevision's Optimum Channel 14.
The Woodstick Classic features two schools that are among the nation's strongest programs this year as well as powerhouses in the tri-state area. Garden city, currently ranked first in MSG Varsity's Tri-State area poll, trails in all-time wins in the series against Manhasset, currently ranked 11th in the tri-state.
Both schools feature players at the top of the class at their positions. Manhasset defenseman Bobby Duvnjak is a two-time All-American and two-time All-Long Island player who has committed to playing at Harvard next year and was recently dubbed as the "Secretary of Defense" by Newsday. Duvnjak will have his hands full as he tries to keep Garden City's second all-time leading assist man and future Harvard teammate Devin Dwyer in check. Dwyer, who currently leads Nassau County in both points and assists, is expected to break Garden City's all-time assist record within the next game or two.
"The Woodstick Classic is an institution on Long Island-known throughout the country-and we're thrilled to bring the action of this storied rivalry to homes across the tri-state area," said Theresa Chillianis, General Manager, MSG Varsity. "With both teams ranked among the top teams nationally, viewers can expect to see some of the nation's best lacrosse talent on display during this match."
Calling the game for MSG Varsity will be Jimmy Cavallo (play-by-play), Pat McCabe (color analyst) and Kelli Tennant (sideline reporter).

thank you in advance As a starting point, you can use the Calendar option in the Ribbon Bar just above. On the May calendar, we have the day-by-day listing of the section (Nassau/Suffolk), gender, and class playoffs taking place on any given day leading up to the finals on May 30th/31st (depending on your county). Along the left side of your BOTC screen, we have a content island called "Useful Links". There, you will see a link that will et you to the Section VIII (Nassau) and Section XI (Suffolk) playoff brackets. BOTC will also continue to provide updates as we go through the playoffs.

Why does the Sayville scores always take so long to be posted? This game might have been moved to this evening as it was at the Sayville HS field. Anyone know if that field has lights?
