hey SPSG mom if you are going to write this dribble please do not do it at the Valley Inn after your 4th High Noon.

hey GCS mom if you are going to attempt to [Censored] SPSG mom, you should probably know that the term is spelled "drivel" not "driblle"

It’s spelled dribble not “driblle”…the SPSG education didn’t suit you well.

Have to respectfully disagree. I'm hearing maybe one 27 club player coming in. Just don't think the administration wants to focus on sports any longer. Small varsity roster this year with no JV. Very few girls with experience coming in next year. Going to be tough to attract any/much talent in the future. When the 25s are seniors, will they be able to even field a team?

And rumor has it via DD and her teammates, some of the current squad are already looking to transfer after this year knowing the future looks bleak.

Sticking it out would not be the worst thing for these kids/families. Tough sell in the times of instant gratification and some prefer an easier path.

As was stated before, if there's not enough girls for a team, you think they should still stick it out? They want to play and presumably for a semi-competitive team.

If a girl comes from public to private for freshman year and is a strong, quick, athletic goalie who has proved herself to be the best on all teams. So much so that people are talking about her. Why would she not be on varsity? Could this be because she wasn’t in private for middle school? Are there legacy policies put in place?

Not sure I understand your question but can you explain “proved herself to be the best on all teams”. How could an incoming freshman already proven herself if she hasn’t taken an 80 mph shot from a 19 year old senior. Even if she is amazing at her age bracket, that is no comparison to goalies that played in the league prior. Not saying they can’t start or even be better, just don’t understand the proven comment

Not being there for MS is not a reason. There are also no legacy rules. Every coach has an incentive to put their best kids in the goal. Period. Most IAMM coaches don't hear or care about what other people say. They'd never survive.

Glenelg 9, GCS 7- Glenelg was up 5 or 6 to 0 at half. Great comeback by GCS.

McDonogh’s goalie is a freshman and plays before the Jr. She just came to the school this year and is solid.

Or GHS started playing backups. It was a scrimmage afterall.

Wasn’t at the game but usually with scrimmages, the first half really determines the better team as that is the primary starters playing against primary starters. I am sure it was a great comeback but in a normal game the starters would be playing much longer. GCS obviously still has a lot of talented seniors but it falls off very quickly after that. Think they missed their opportunity years to win a championship

4 D1 players not participating for GCS might have made a difference too. Why so excited over a scrimmage? Glenelg better win it all if they are so good. They have a history of underachieving in playoffs lately.

privates are funny. JC schedules scrimmage with CMW and when you win it is now entered by coach on IAAM as a game. When you lose it was just a scrimmage.

Oh here we go again.. disgruntled entitled goalie mom. Give it a rest. Your daughter made JV because the coach felt your daughter would benefit MORE being on JV. Playing time and understanding the plays then sitting the bench on Varsity. If you have an issue go to the coach and talk to them, instead of running to this forum to gain sympathy. Clearly you think your daughter is a standout but the varsity coach thinks otherwise. Start putting in the work and stop complaining.

You realize this is an anonymous forum, and the probability of that post not being the goalie mom but some troll, maybe another disgruntled parent or perhaps a 15 yr old girl is very very high?

You'd would be insane to publicly identify your kid and complain about PT or what team they are on.
I am also sure the coach's know this.

In fact, I'd say 50/50 same person wrote both posts.

Good points. GHS has history of underachieving. They have less numbers and quality depth this year too. It won't happen (again) this year. As stated before, GCS was without 4 starters -I believe they were without their best dodgers and scorers. it would have been a different game.

Gotta love GCS parents, for one, I think it’s only 3 committed starters that did not play but this is the same GCS team that complained loudly on social media that the SPSG coach was making excuses and not giving GCS any credit when they destroyed them in the regular season when the SPSG coach made a comment that 3 of their 4 starting defenders went down the week before they played that game. Ultimately good coaches/good teams find a way to adjust to injuries as GCS should know from the finals. Point being, sadly for the talented class of seniors at GCS, I think their opportunity to win a championship has passed and don’t see much talent in their 24,25 and 26 class to stay at or near the top

Howard County, where the egos are so big, they fight about a meaningless scrimmage.
Both teams will have nothing next year compared to what they both have had the last couple of years. Only difference is GHS is public and will always have bodies to form teams. GCS team needs to recruit hard and it will be an uphill battle.

GCS is just bitter because while they might have more commits than most, they just aren’t that good anymore.
Tough to swallow when a team of high school newbies beats you soundly whether you had some players or the other team subbed out for a scrimmage. Losing hurts

Other than the daughter, it’s the perfect spot for girls who would not make varsity or see the field at SPSG until 11th grade

Kind of ambitious calling it a pipeline when there are Hero's players scattered everywhere. Those now going to Maryvale are trying to position their kid for a position on the pine in College Park.

People “talking about a goalie” in their middle school years and thinking this would translate to a varsity spot on a team in the IAAM A conference is laughable! Depending on the school, don’t be surprised if she is on JV next year too. Manage your expectations now to save you and your daughter tears and frustration for the next 4 years.

So much talent on that TERPS bench wasting away, players who would be stand outs at other programs. Too each his own.

I’ll never understand the desire to just sit on the bench in College Park. Happens every year. Must just like the bragging rights of saying you “play” for Maryland. CR has definitely shown who her favorite freshmen is this year. Others equally as capable aren’t getting the playing time they deserve. But those players knew what they were getting into I guess.

This seems to be a trend. For such talk of fastest growing sport etc. you see this from club to high school to college a clumping up of talent. Maybe Denver can break through and be the school of the west. I would love to know how much school "support" drives the final standings in the IAAM.

I'm curious who is running their social media...it's obvious the player they are pushing. Is she a good player, yes...are the better players on that team, yes. I feel sorry for the other freshman attacker that was getting some media attention after the 1st/2nd game then immediately got shut down. Can't deny politics.

She is very good but of course they are going to push TC’s protege. CR and TC both want that spotlight, very aggressive player.

Maryvale will become this too. Collect a ton of talent, but don't play most of it. Throw a player a nugget every now and again so they don't transfer out.

This stuff is priceless. A bunch of parents with no coaching experience critiquing top level coaches. Funny that NDP carries 40 girls and doesn’t have kids transfer out. How many leave MCD or SPSG? Do all the schools play everyone ? The answer is no! They play those that give them the past chance to win. If you want to play transfer to Gerstell. They would love to have another sub or 2.
