Did Crush lose to Sweetlax Florida? Score on Tourney machine correct? Looks like a forfeit to me. 1-0. It was cold and nasty so no reason to play in that weather. These are high school boys. A bit odd that they would not play because it was cold and nasty against a team that flew in for the event. Events were going on all over the east coast in cold, wet and nasty weather and games went on. Can't imagine that Crush, from cold NY, would forfeit because it was cold to a team from the Sunshine state. Either way, it is a loss. College coaches probably gone by this game time so whats the point? There were still many coaches around. Team looked really bad not playing. Are Spallina et al. proud of coaching a bunch of prima donnas who couldn't care to face a bunch of potential future teammates and NLF members? Are 91 parents proud of the optics? How can you be proud. Win on the field, lose in life. . .losers. Take a close look at some of those Crush scores also from the Sat. tournament. They were dominant in every game but someone JS gets a few goals added (especially when playing anyone local).

I think what really stands out here is the lack of respect. 91 is a founding member of NLF. Sweetlax players spent a considerable amount of money flying in for this tournament. Crush boys were local. They had an obligation of common decency to play this game. Plenty of coaches were still around. It’s not like the Florida team could get a head start on the road as they had to wait for a FLIGHT! Down right dough bag move. A refund should be given to the Florida boys. This is also a horrible venue for this event. For Christ sake, find some turf fields!!!

Crush players as well as express players were also probably playing with their own high school teams the same day on opposite side of campus in the Fall Classic. Not sure crush ducks Sweetlax lololol . Thought express had an outstanding day in their games also fields were in really poor condition

Don’t enter the tournament if you don’t intend on playing the games. Disrespectful move. Not surprising

Exactly. 91 has now made a statement. Even though you're an NLF member, we don't really care and will decide on our own if we play you. LIE and the NY Sweetlax team played. Kudos to the LIE team for playing and not being a bunch of spoiled brats (on really really bad fields...new venue indeed). NLF members need to take some action against 91. Kick them out. . .there's enough talent already in the NLF that a dominant team like 91 isn't really needed or appreciated. Parents should be ashamed of themselves, too. And believe me, coaches noted they didn't play as I saw a coach talking with the Florida coach. What comes around goes around. . .

They didn't have enough players available in this time slot due to the varsity tournament also at Farmingdale and the tournament directors were made well aware of this the day before as were the coaches. For whatever reason same day as the NLF is also a long standing HS varsity tournament run at same site. Agree that Florida should of been given another game but this wasn't a last minute no show. This tournament needs to be played on turf

RIDICULOUS!!

Very poor form. It is fall. Play with who you have and respect the other teams. The sweetlax kids may have had coaches coming to see them play and Crush took that opportunity from them. And to say it was cold and nasty weather. That is a joke. Going forward, games should not be scheduled with the Crush team or any club that does this. unbelievable lack of character and respect for others. Some things about the Crush team never change.

I agree find a new venue for this tournament. outside of the turf and maybe one of the grass fields the rest of the fields are very bad. Fields 4,5,6 are terrible fields on sunny spring/summer days never mind a rainy fall day..

Sunday in HS division games were cancelled with fields being unsafe What is a better option on LI yes has to be on LI the Fall Classic is run with the NLF

Not a big crush supporter but pretty sure they are not scared of Sweetlax Florida. Most of those boys played on crush and their HS teams that same day. If they told the tournament directors like claimed the blame falls on NLF for not adjusting the schedule We have competed against that team for years if they could of played they would have

they really don't talk much to 2020's, they have been telling the 2020's to keep working on their game and to keep them updated on there schedule. my son is a 2019 and the coaches will tell players to stick around afterwards because the head coach wants to speak to them Thank you. Yes- had the exact same experience recently with my son who is a 2020. Coaches would not engage in dialogue with the 2020's but encouraged the 2019's to stay after the event ended to have conversations. Next September 1st will be far more aggressive than this past one there are still so many very good 20’s uncommitted

Agreed, but was also told that they are definitely putting their list together of 2020 kids they are interested in, so if your son is really interested in the school, it is worth going to the prospect day for them to see your son, as well as for your son to get the feel of the school and the team. My son has had lunch with some of the players at various schools and learned a lot about the schools from the kids; how they feel about the school, the academics, study hall, travel, the style/temperament of the coaches etc. Prospect days are as much for your kid as they are for the coach. I'd pick your kid's top 3-4 schools that you know fit him academically and skill wise on the field and register for those. The rest of the schools, send them emails with video, grades and updates on where you will play with your team and what showcases. Good luck to all. Agreed have your sons coach make sure the interest is genuine with there being so many prospect days

fl$ has not "fallen apart". It has changed players. Team is the same defensively, better offensively and worse at X. Team that played Saturday was shell of their real team and had borrowed players to field a team given HS event conflict, Showcase and football. Goodbye, we miss you too, good luck with Igloo or TT's or wherever you went. See you in the summer.
