Teach him to stick his lip out and pound his fists to the ground. Seriously? You keep fighting and doing what you can to get him off season training and playing with best coach/team he can get onto right now. He'll either achieve what he wants one day, or he won't. Either way, valuable lessons learned. There are kids from Lightning C playing AA club ball and varsity HS ball right now, just stay with it. Politics magically go away when the balls start hitting the nets, or not hitting the nets if he plays defense!

Real easy answer. It's a game. Kids should be having fun. If they are not having fun, move on. Their enjoyment of the game and passion to play will drive them to be better.

Life isn't fun sometimes, so the earlier you are honest, the better off they will be. If they love the game, they will understand they have about a year until high school, so they better play against the hardest, and seemingly not fun, competition as much as possible. You know what is not fun, not making the team in high school, then all those lower bracket games you played in MS don't seem so fun anymore.

There is no real future in lacrosse, so having fun at playing games should be the most important. Being miserable the whole time you are in middle school, high school, or college and working at something that will not improve you as an employable person is not really worth it.

Not if you are going up against the coach's son or the club owner's kid. It's amazing how bad some of these kids are that never come out.

Work isn't fun, homework isn't fun, but you have to do it to get by in life. If playing games isn't fun, you aren't really "playing" and it is pointless.

Play for a coach that can help develop players to get ready for highschool. Not a coach that just wants to win so he can stroke his ego.

Most head coaches at the elite level have played and coached at a higher level. A few have not. Do your research and find what is the best fit for your kid.

But getting a promotion is fun, getting an A at the end of the quarter is fun, and eventually earning more playing time on a top team is fun. What is wrong with you people?!

Going to a different team isn't giving up - you are just putting yourself in a better situation. I'm not saying quit in the middle of the season, but just like pro athletes, move on after the contract is up or ask for a trade.

How is it that the Crabs only play 5 games in HoCo and all others play 6?

FCA only had 5 as well because they couldn't work out a time to play each other when the schedule came out. The Crabs/FCA game is scheduled now, it just hasn't been added to the schedule.

Do you honestly think the same issues don't exist on every club? If your son is good enough he will play. It's 7th grade. Kids are growing at different rates and skill levels change quickly. If your son isn't playing it may make sense to move to a lower level club for now to play, but it depends on what your end goal is. If you just want your son to have fun, they playing time should be a high priority. If you think your son can play at a higher level, try to play for the best club he can make. Get private lessons, get a trainer, hit the wall, etc...Sure there are politics, but at the end of the day the clubs want to win. If your kid is one of the better players on the team he will play.

RR,API,Hawks,89+1 just to start with have Dads coaching. I would let my son play for anyone of those coaches. Highly qualified coaches and successful too. Pretty sure that most of the talent doesn't go running off these teams either. Maybe a kidder or a kid there.

So, silly, Im sure one of the color commentators(Dads) that travel to each and every game on here can inform you on the Top Players from every team. They may even be able to give you stats as well.

Cannons won NPYLL two years ago and now are a B team. Diamondbacks won Hoco two years ago and now only have 1 win.

Are you saying daddy ball wrecked these teams?

Cannons Head coach is not a Dad. API has a very good team that has lost 2 tight 1 goal games in the Elite division. Agree with this post from earlier:

Madlax vs. 9D1
Hawks vs. Next Level
Crabs vs. Bethesda
API vs. FCA

Is it 4 or 5 teams making the playoffs? Seedings games for some of these teams. Good luck to all.

Looks like Hawks, Bethesda, and T9-1MD have clinched a playoff spot.

Madlax is in with a win, but needs to beat Hawks.

RoughRiders need help, but have the tie breaker over Madlax.

Next Level is done for the season unless they are making up that Crabs game.

The Crabs need to make up the Next Level and win as well as win against T91 for a shot at playoffs.

API needs help, and will have tie breaker over RoughRiders with win, but I don't know if they would have it over Madlax.

It is 2 bad they cannot take the top 8 teams. I know that FCA does not have a win yet but they have been competitive in their games. Next Level is the only team that does not fit in this group. If you look at the goals for vs against 91 , Mad , RR, API and all very equal. It is to bad that the teams do not get a chance to play each other twice. It would be a huge benefit to all of the teams. Most of the games all season have been great to watch.
