Heard SYO defensive coach has never played lacrosse himself and only plays his favorites.

That is true if you don't get in starting line up on defensive side by end of scrimmages you will never crack the line up, unless someone gets hurt. He puts the blinders on and treats the kids like crap!!!!

Coaching makes all the difference in the world. Farmingdale was just more disciplined and executed. Port jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead but Farmingdale settled in and just executed the game plan that the coaches drew up. Port just seemed to fall apart and was unable to control the ball. Turn over after turn over. Shot after shot that missed the net without backup. Also shots from 20 yards out that resulted in easy saves for our goalie. Once the playoffs start it's a clean slate. Let's go Dalers.

Sorry, show us the box score.
You can't it's not there. Article aside, nice for manhassett- you will never see the GC box score on a day after a loss. Fake news machine at work.

Doesn't look like Nassau A can compete with Suffolk A. So who will get off the Island? And who will be state champs? Upstate teams are also looking good.

So GC controls Newsday? The winning coach is responsible for posting stats. Looks like the Manhasset machine at work, on a side note, I'm investing in tin foil hats, looks like the market is on the upswing.

Mt. Sinai....95 goals, 53 assists - that equals 56%. CSH when I did this post had 136 goals and 100 assists 74%. PS - not from MP , just do not enjoy slanderous claims - all the teams that are mentioned play good lacrosse in their own right. Different styles

Was there a box score after St. Ignacious? - no.

Was there a box score after Manhassett? -no

GC won't deal with any negativity.

Oh yeah, Syossett loss made everyone's weekend.

Sure Pal.

Based upon what you are saying, Pequa should have scored 20 on Syo... So, I guess only 7 goals (let's not count the cheap empty net goal with 20 seconds left) against Syo either means that Pequa Offense is weak or Syo Defense is good. I'll let you decide.5

Not a Port family, but those at the game will question and be Monday morning qbs. Why the halftime change. Newsday doesnt have the stats nor do they detail some of the stats by halfs but those at the game know. The game was big but not a playoff game. The coach is either the genius or idiot.

All 4 top teams are beatable but will it pan out they way it is today.

Yet evolution seems to have gone backwards in certain towns when their lacrosse teams lose. Syosset get over it. You lost to Massapequa. They were the better team. Teams will win and lose its sport. These are kids people, kids! Why do we attack them. Why do you anonymously attack them on this site. Does it make you feel better about yourself or your kid. If that's the case you are really pathetic. When a team loses they lose as a team. It seems the parents want to place blame on one of the units or individuals.

what was the final score? what was the half time score? do you have saves by halves? has the coach been switching goalies every game at half time? was it a goalie that got pulled or was it a goalie switch? which is a big difference. This is a lot more interesting than than the name calling going on.

Pretty balanced on the Dalers vs Port.

Manhasset taking care of what they have to. Looking forward to the Chaminade game, still wished GC would play Chaminade. Will Hewlette put another check in the left column for GC. For some reason I am looking forward to that one more than the SWR game. Although the GC game could give life to the quiet SWR Season. Lets see what happens after Miller Place. Im predicting many more assists than expected.

Can anybody confirm Suffolk A will only be 11 teams and not 12in Playoffs? Suffolk A mid tier teams not sure how Whitman and Bay Shore are above Sachem North. (in both lax power and Section Xi). Can Pat Med win 3 of the last 4? Sachem North has to split the next 4. (one of the games is SN vs PM). Bay Shore can they beat Pat Med as one of the 2 must wins out of the last 4. Pat Med can create their own destiny, last 2 games at home against teams they will need to Leap frog. Whitman may come down to power points. Anyone say play-in game for Whitman. This part of the ranking is the fun part.

Section xi what algorithm to you have where Smithtown West is ranked over Smithtown East? Is it as cray as me thinking the next Chamy SA game will be close.

Yes coach pulled the 1st half goalie. What is the issue. If a goalie isn't playing well he might get pulled. Get over it. Coach made a decision.

The question is not how many goals were scored in the first half compared to the second half of the Port-Farmingdale game. It is how does a coach/coaching staff pull a goalie with the score at the half 9-7 Farmingdale knowing that in the second quarter their goalie was facing the sun? A smart, knowledgeable coach would keep the starting goalie in. Port needs to reevaluate their coaching staff if they plan on ever making it to the next round of playoffs!!!!

A post above says the score was 8-5 at half, was anybody at the game and can tell us what the score at the half was? also a big difference in pulling a goalie vs. changing goalies. Have they done this in the past or is the kid that started the game the regular full time goalie? How many saves did he have in addition to giving up 8 or 9?

The team gave up 69 goals in their first 11 games ( 6.27 GAA) so eight or nine in the first half was a lot for them and maybe the coach just felt the kid just didn't have it that day. It will be interesting to see what they do this week facing a couple of good teams and if they play one or two goalies. Port has gone the previous five years with the same kid in goal, it is a luxury that few towns have ever enjoyed .

Good luck this week Port, could be a great week for you

Both teams have two loses. But, East lost to Commack and WM and West lost to SE and WM. SE lost more points for losing to a lower ranked team.

Correction to my post-the score was 7-5 at the half. And the person who posted the coach made a goalie change must not understand lacrosse or is the replacement goalie's family member.

The Farmingdale goalie faced the same sun. Stop with excuses all goalies faced the same sun. He got pulled it's not the end of the world. Stop making excuses for everything. Its the suns fault, the wind. LoL. One let up 7 and the other 8. Not that big of a difference. How did the rest of the team do? Did they finish? How many shots did they miss? How many unforced turnovers. How many ground balls? It's more than just goalies on the field. Watch the video and maybe you will see why Port lost. It's a lot more than the way the goalies played. Both goalies for Port played fine.

Did you just say it was the suns fault the 1st half goalie got pulled. So because he let a few soft goals in its the suns fault. Mom, please stay off the site. I beg you.
