DG only really takes care of her set girls when it comes to college. She could be the biggest whiner(baby)yelling at refs in HS and Club when she doesn't get the call her way. Just because she was supposedly a good player 30 years ago doesn't make you a good coach. When she was playing basically no one played the game. Her program is mediocre at best. Glad your daughter is one of the set chosen few. Many people have seen her act multiple times and it's pathetic.

My daughter played for DG, is committed to an excellent school, got great athletic money, and we're not from Manhasset. That's such a bunch of bs. Guess your facts are exactly accurate. As far as yelling at the refs, I've seen it happen but it's not often and usually because a player is at risk of being injured due to bad/non call. Have you seen some of the other LI club director's behavior at tournaments and hs games? There are some who are real nasty characters to say the least.

Wantagh took a beating, painfully obvious they graduated their talent. No chemistry and not in a tough bracket. Manhasset looks good, SWR weak defense. Lots of talent and energy. Too bad this wasn't an open invitation

It literally is a run & gun bubble. Wantagh will definitely struggle this year, its ugly. Middle Country very polished.

Why did you post that swr has a weak D before they even played a game?

Indoor, 7v7 and no draw after every goal - always high scoring.

Middle country is in the wrong bracket. 66 goals in two games? They should be playing better competiton.

Tournament is a waste for full teams. Most HS teams are 25-30 players, to go play a 7v7 is not fun if you are the coach. These indoor tournaments are best fit for little throw together teams where you can bring one or two subs. My daughters HS and Travel team does these indoor leagues, what a waste of time and money. 20 something girls show up to split time for a 1 hour game, actually less, think it is 2 25 min halfs. Coaches would be better only invite half the team every other week to at least make it worth the trip. So again this indoor 7v7 stuff is just not a good option for a full outdoor teams and really doesn't showcase the "team" very accurate.

This tournament is just another event to deepen the roster divides on most teams. Lots of coaches left the bottom of their roster home so they could play their studs. That's the problem with todays game its not about the team anymore until you get to college. All about me and the cash

what college teams are you referring too. Look at the stats of any college program and you have your starters and a few kids off the bench who get the majority of the playing time. Then you have the other half of the team with little to no playing time. That's sports, coaches want to win, So stop fooling yourself, It doesn't change in college.

That's unfortunate if your coach did that. Rosters for schools are smaller this time of the year since the 16s gave graduated and the freshmen haven't yet tried out . My daughters team brought everyone who wanted to go which was just about everyone.

Was that wantagh's JV this weekend, because that definitely didn't resemble wantagh's varsity from years past.

Actually quite a few teams had 15 to 20 girls at this tournament. Based on the format a longer bench helped. With only two draws the whole game it was non stop fast breaks. There were so many scores in the mid to high 20's per team. If you showed up with 2 to 3 subs you struggled.

Also, if you were a team that graduated a lot of seniors and had a light junior class you might struggle to get a large number of girls. Not all the teams were coached by their HS coach so JV and incoming freshman may not have been invited because they are not known as well as the older girls. Just a thought

A couple of parents who think their girls are the bomb handpicked the "top" varsity players to play and apparently it didn't work out as planned. Humble pie.
