Anyone know how Madlax vs. Leading Edge went in the play day this weekend?

So, BOTC who are your favorite clubs other than the biggest sponsor?

Thought For the love was in the same class as express terps? I guess they dont think so anymore. must have seen the terps play.

Brine is funny. If my count is correct there are more '21 igloo kids that made it than: 89+2, Terps, Legacy and fl$ who all had multpiple kids and Igloo '20 with one. Sure, no bias whatsoever in the selection process.

Also, its weird that there is a current 9th grader '00 birthday kid that made it.

Maybe that's because most of the evaluators were from igloo, a team that could not even score one point against tax last weekend, yet these boys make Brine? Another evaluator was told his opinion didn't matter even though he was a specialist in a certain position, so a different kid could get trough. Shameful playing politics with these kids after grabbing their money. And if you are wondering, no my kid did not tryout, for this exact reason!

There are also 2 teams being sent down. Wait and see which one they were assigned to.

This site is funny. You can say a lot of negative things about the couple of clubs that no one is allowed to write their names , but them not doing well is just a fabrication. Those two clubs are probably two of the best run , most profitable clubs in the country! I would understand if you say you don't like how they do Buisness , but not doing well is a stretch!

The amount of 2021s, all from the same club, is sad. Clearly the evaluator from that club forced his kids on the team. Hopefully they'll do the right thing and put them on the "seconds" team. There are a few 2021s that can hold their own but NONE good enough to play on a 2020 all star team. TA making a bad name for himself even worse...

In reality, AA is doing what any club director should be doing, and that's getting their players on to the best teams, in the best showcases. The real question is how did the organizers of the Brine event allow it? This sort of obvious favoritism does nothing but confirm the general consenus that the selection process is rigged. It also dilutes the accomplishment of the other boys that got selected.

The answer is simple at best Brine is a B Event which suits AA

Sounds like maybe someone didn't make team? That would be my guess since nothing promoted that. They don't play the local half baked tournaments at grammar schools in Suffolk

if favoritism is sensed then I would expect the moderators (or at least one of them) would jump all over it as they did last year.

AA also called in a favor for '20 player no longer with igloo because he "aged out" based on new rules... For sure you'll see him with that B group as well as he has no business among LI's best. Can't question his loyalty, that's for sure but selections should raise an eyebrow for Brine.

America's Game and I went back and forth with me telling him to cut it out when he tried to say he had no clue who he was writing about. Review it from last year. He went on and on about favoritism.

Sick of parents calling foul . What when you kid goes for a job and does not get let me guess your going to call the guy who did not hire him and complain. Enough sometimes kids need to be told no ..And yes sometimes life does not "SEEM" fair but move on for really .we are raising a bunch of P$@&#£S . AND THE PARENTS ARE THE PROBLEM !!!!!!!

Parents are absolutely the problem. And a parent who would write this is a fine example. I'm sure your kid is a special little guy!

Parents who never played are taking a team sport and turning it into an individual sport... Hard to watch this game now, especially listening to all the morons on the sideline...

Ok so being accused of something and brought up on the 2020 thread i went back and found the posts this person was referring to and it was about players not going to a tryout and being put on a team. This was from the 2019 thread so I find it interesting he is bringing it up in the 2020 thread.

I am against favoritism in anyway because its whats destroying the game.

Basically he or she thinks a player should make a team even if they dont go to tryout. I think its a bunch of BS when a player is a no show to a tryout and makes a team. If thats how you are raising your kid thats fine. I would never allow my son be on a team if he didnt tryout thats just me. I dont think its ok to do it to anyone. So if people are OK with a no show at a tryout by a supposedly great player and for them to automatically be put on that team come at me with reasons and facts please. Please tell me how this is OK.

I think you take the best player can. Some make varsity some stay on JV. End of the day kid never played nor was on any.list. you went out of your way to out them

It was obvious to many who it was. You say you didn't know we and I said many did to cut it out. Let's see if you do the same this year.

So your ok with players not showing up to tryouts and making regional teams, like Brine, Under Armour etc. So then why have a tryout. I never went out of my way to out someone. When people are posting how unhappy they are with what occurred it's my job as a moderator to create discussion and bring to attention the good and the bad of the game our children play.

I remember this clearly. But moving forward, one question. If the top 2020 player this year had a game that night, and had to miss the tryout due to a varsity game, would you leave out the Suffolk counties top points and scorer. Simply foolish if you did, tryout or not.

Now onto the real issue this year, if you are so diligent in your research did a certain evaluator have to much say on letting his kids in. Not sure how you can judge. It's all relative. The only objective part is do the numbers indicate an impropriety take place. Subjective is if they derseved it.

Hey thats life. You make your own choices as to what you prioritize. There are plenty of great players on Long Island. Again I am against a no show for any tryouts. That's just me and what I believe. If a player doesn't show up to a pro tryout a college tryout he doesn't make the team that plain and simple. A lot of this stuff occurs due to politics, nepotism, and plain BS.

As for a certain individual having too much say at a tryout. It's not an anomaly to just this year. It happens whenever a certain club has the most evaluators at a certain event. Look at the U19 team and see where most of those players are from. They happen to be from the schools the head coaches are from. It just doesn't happen in youth but college level events. It's been the major issue I have had with a lot of these select events.
