Looking at older grades college coaches seem to support the NLF very much I think trying to make peace and get in the NLF would be the correct move for igloo if he can

Unfortunately they got in the business late to get those kids and probably 2022 and 2023 associated with any of these groups. Igloo has to show for a few years that they can retain good teams from 9th grade and up before they will be considered for any of these groups. So there could be hope for 2025 igloo teams if igloo could show a history of having good teams for the older years. It is that simple. No bad intent by any group. Membership can't be changing every year. If that happens the goup loses credibility.

Makes a ton of sense, do better kids from smaller clubs go to the more established clubs ?

Understand that college coaches could care less about NLF; what they care about is getting the best talent out there. And if Igloo or any other club is good, the college coaches are going to want to see them. So it really doesn't matter.

Does not make sense and is not true. NLF is an effort by the big influential clubs to control the youth lacrosse recruiting process and make as much money as possible. They want you to believe that your child won't get recruited unless he plays for one of the NLF clubs. If there is a smaller program with a talented team, they will exclude them from their events in hopes that some parents will panic and move their sons to one of the NLF teams.

So you're saying Igloo is banned and Crabs are not?? Legacy, Crush have several holdbacks as well. Including a kid blatantly in the grade above, not even bothering to reclass. It's ok for all of them bot not Igloo, C'MON! You can't be serious?

Just because other teams do it doesn't make it ok. But thanks for admitting it.

Also only plays when the team is playing up against kids his age.

Think about this if you were college X wouldn't you go where the best clubs are from top to bottom? The question answers itself Same weekend there is an NLF tourn as some other one with random clubs Obviously coaches go where the majority of players are and established club teams with most history of commitments

2022 is not his age. He plays with bandits when they play up. He's still playing down against 2022 teams. He should be 2021.

NLF members have teams playing at every grade level in each of their events. Does Igloo have older teams? Seems like that might be important, no? Parents have been moving from Igloo when their kids hit recruitment age long before NLF.

Bottom line right or not is. Wherever the best teams and clubs go the college coaches go. That will not include some clubs which will hurt the chances of those clubs keeping top kids

We actually had to leave a certain club as recruiting picked up to make sure our son got a fair look. It's sad but true that second team express kids were getting more opportunity than my son who was a better kid on a lesser club

Not true at all. It is hard to get in these recruitment groups and events. They will not let any team/club in even if it is the best team for any year. Igloos 2021 team is learning this now. Clearly the best team in 2021 won't get into the best events without several good teams 9th grade and older to go with them.

Igloo needs to change their reputation before anyone will let them play meaningful games. Word spreads pretty quickly when they bring in 6th graders just to win tourneys.

He's making the point that although the 2021 team is good, since Igloo doesn't have teams in the older grades they won't get any quality showcase invitations. That's why Igloo will find it very hard to exist in a few years.

So it's ok for Legacy and 91 to do that, just not Igloo? You sound Hypocritical and rediculus!

You mean ridiculous, right? Either way, 91 Bandits only bring in the 6th grader when they're playing 6th grade teams. Could they win without him? Maybe. Probably. Who knows. But they are play 6th grade kids. That's the difference. Igloo brings in 6th grade kids to play 5th grade kids. You don't see how that's different? If you don't then you are part of the reason your kids team is a joke and not taken seriously by a single coach or parent.

Well, 6th grade kid is supposed to be in 7th grade first of all. Another prominent club, not Igloo has a 9th grader playing on the 2020 team who did not reclass. Cheating is rampant amongst all the clubs. Sad for the kids who just want to play the game fairly, as the adults around them are immorality hypocrites!

It is never acceptable to bend/break the rules but just to be clear - Igloo 2023 does not have a 6th grader on the team this year. Last year the coach brought in a boy from his town who was a 2022. I don't think anyone was aware of the situation (other than the coach and the boy's parents) until mid year. The boy and the coach are no longer with the team. Igloo 2023 is not a joke. Just a team trying to improve each year and hopefully one day compete with the best teams out there.

Until recruitment age when the best kids will jump ship to move to one of the better clubs so they can get more looks.

In the opinion of most (other than a few Badgers parents), 91 Bandits are the top 2023 team out there, which they've proven time and time again.

However, when the 2022 kid with the June 2003 birthday plays with them in the B division of a 2022 tournament, they SHOULD win (as is the case when any of the top teams in an age group plays weaker teams in the grade above them -- now, if they started playing in tournaments with the real 2022 "A" teams and beat them consistently, that would be impressive). BUT, Bandits should stop talking about themselves as a 2023 team when they win these 2022 "B" brackets with the older kid -- and this includes when the coach tweets or posts something on Instagram about how proud he is of his "2023 Bandits playing up" -- because it's not a 2023 team playing up -- at that point it is a 2022 team of really talented and well-coached kids in the proper age group playing down in a B bracket or in a weaker tournament.

That same guy that was coaching IGLOO 2023 last year is now coaching another team. Did he bring his 2022 kid(s) to this new team? Imagine being on one of his teams. Your kid tries his best every week at practice, but some other kid just seems faster stronger, plus he's the coaches next door neighbor. Then, half way through the season you and your son find out that the kid that starts in front of him is actually one year older AND a 2022!! This would be after you have paid the 3k tuition, bought sweats, paid for the extra training, etc. Fun times. I wouldn't be surprised if the older kids get discounted tuition as well.

Unfortunately all of Igloo management knew since tryouts that the kid was a 2022. But they looked the other way. This includes the Huntington coach who cheated in the town tournament and AA himself. Can't scapegoat DK alone here. They wanted to have the strongest 2023 team they could in the first year. Too bad they decided to cheat. This time they got caught. How many other times has/will it happen? Isolated incident for Igloo? Facts suggest otherwise since Igloo coach just got busted cheating in the town tournament. Purpose of the board is to provide information to parents. Make your own choice. But think about what your son is learning from these guys.

No they played A there was only one 2022 division. They played Dukes national in finals. It is on tourney machine for actual proof, but why would you want proof when you can lie. We're there some B teams in it ? Maybe but who's fault is that. The Dukes loaded a team up and got beat. Some 2022 top teams also played up as smash played 2021. So your information is off . To be clear - Igloo knew all about the 2022 kid they had on the 2023 team last year from the beginning. It was known all the way up the chain to AA who approved it. The 2022 kid is not on DK's new team. He is now on Outlaws 2022.

It does work that way. There are recruitment groups of teams like NLF and others that get many coaches to attend several events a year. Then there are other events were teams are invited to send best players. Those are specific places coaches go where it matters which team your son is on. All the other stuff like open tournaments such as NXT or Lax Fest don't get a big turn out of coaches compared to the other invite only group events. Then there are camps and other things any one can join. Most teams rely on the open to anyone tournaments. The advantage of being part of a group is those kids could attend the open to anyone events and those invite only where there are sometimes over 100 head coaches who attend to look at a limit group of kids with tournament games and with non committed all star games. Most teams rely on the open events where the assistant to the assistant coach attends with a turnout of 50 to 75 coaches looking at way too many kids and teams because the event is open to everyone. If it means nothing to be part of these groups teams like Igloo would not be trying to get in. No doubt a kid who is the top 50 in the country will find a spot but he would find a better spot on a team associated with the right groups. If your kid is not a top 50 in the country lesser talented kids have a better shot at making it with more exposure with the invite only groups.
