Neither are AA at 2020

They were 2 and 5 in NPYLL last season, add in FCA, Looney's, and Rising Sons, it does not get better for them.

Rising Sons playing in Hoco this year?

Exactly all these teams have been praticing and playing in indoor. Why does Madlax do their tryouts so late?

Yes their 2020's. They were asked to come down. Some clubs not happy as they will be bumped to A division

Why would teams get bumped from AA if they wanted the challenge ? It was oh 5-6 on the original list for 2020 aa

Just because a team wants a challenge does not mean they get to play wherever they want. The other teams that belong in a bracket/division deserve to play the top teams.

Are the teams in 2020 AA set? Who wanted to be in AA and is getting bumped to A?

Rising Sons are an " AA" team, if they are placed elsewhere it is strictly a political thing either on their part or the league.

I don't think anything has been set yet. Just guessing here. You can only have so many teams in a division and I think it makes sense to try and match up teams according to their projected performance. The lopsided victory sucks for both sides and we all lose in a league like that. I hope teams do not get to place themselves and an impartial party handles this.

Yes, they belong there - think the conversation was about the teams that want to play the highest level along with them but are not ready . crabs, hawks, 91 force, FCA white, Looneys and rising sons are of a different level than the other 2020 teams and all have had close challenging games with one another and belong in their own division. Other teams are afraid of getting bumped from that division now that rising sons is coming-in reality they were never playing in that group and should not be.

If that holds up it will be an incredible 6 team league. Would love to see Crush and LI X pop in for a few "non-conference" games. Wouldnt be surprised to see a few of the known early recruiting schools on the sidelines of these games...

Define elite. You need 5-7 hold backs to qualify. The days of running thru the middle are over. If it's the six they are talking about then this is how it goes in order.
Crabs 5-0
Looneys 3-2
Hawks 3-2
Fca blue 3-2
Rising sons 2-3
91 2-3

Given fall records with their new teams, think the middle grouping of Hawks, FCA, 91 and Rising Sons may not hold for the projection but it will be fun to see. Crabs, Looneys, FCA agree on the number of holdbacks. Hawks and 91, pretty sure they only have 1 or 2. Not sure about Rising Sons. Lucky for RM that HoCo mgmt supports holdbacks and would never consider putting an age restriction in. All of the above teams have flip flopped in victories or had one point overtime games with one another so it should be a lot of fun. Let's hope HoCo maintains the competitive level of this group and does not try to fit other teams in without a proven record. RM given his personal r-ships would attempt to block any attempts by Crush to join the group as he has done with local teams in his tournaments. Express would not be a real worry for him for this group. They would spilt W-L .

The only reason Crabs could go 5-0 is their 2020 team is very very close to a 2019 team. They have more holdbacks than any other 2020 team and they do have two double holdbacks on their 2020 roster, making these 2 players close to 16 by this summer.

If there is not another comparable team, make it five games and a playoff. These teams might love to end the spring league a bit early to practice more for summer or let them have a round robin play day to end the spring.

As to the point above about not running down the middle and shooting, two of these teams need to bring more discipline to their game if they hope to stay top 6 in the region. In particular, defenders and goalies running down the field trying to score when they have open offensive players. Be different story if the "play" worked but more often then not, selfish play like this costs the team and they are old enough that the coaches need to shut down this kind of play-it will gets worse in high school if not controlled now.

That is why the others generally discount Crabs - they can claim to be the Champion of whatever they win but others know their story and really do not care. It is not talent, it is manipulating the system for their own benefit.

Crabs roster and every other team's roster with birthdates will be public before the start of the season - guaranteed. The County Executive is aware of the issue. Ultimately it is the county's responsibility to ensure the safety of the children playing in this league. A signed waiver by a parent won't save the county from a lawsuit when some 16 year old crab holdback plows over a 13 year old.

This ^^^^^^^^^^ is understood by all of The MD Lax Community.

Although the Crabs Program has top to bottom talent at most grades without the holdbacks. There "on age" kids sit on the bench or spot play while the older kids take all the playing time. Crabs "on age" parents should rethink wearing a Crabs Lid for earned/deserving playing time elsewhere. Especially 7th/8th/9th grades.

Yep...this. They can go 5-0 but no one will care since we know their game. Can't wait to see how ridiculous these 15-16 year olds look playing against real 8th graders.

The county allows the Mid Maryland football league to play on all the same fields as Hoco lax with unlimited weight players at the 8th grade level along with 8th grade holdbacks and 9th grade OBLs. There are 8th grade football players that are close to 300 lbs playing against 120 lb kids. The county has yet to ban certain players or teams in football because they pose an extra risk of a lawsuit or compromise player safety. So my guess is you won't see it in lacrosse either.

Ultimately it is the county's responsibility to ensure the safety of the children playing in this league. A signed waiver by a parent won't save the county from a lawsuit when some 16 year old crab holdback plows over a 13 year old.

Mid-Maryland football also requires state issued ID cards and that the coaches know for sure how old the players are. I'd be fine with that.

Hawks Dads, Looneys shut you out at young guns 6-0 then beat you 15-3 in the fall but somehow you will beat them in the Spring? Let me guess, even though you lost by 12 you won all the face-offs. Stop it Dad, you all got owned

. FCA doesn't own crap. You are pounding your chest about an AA team with quite a few holdback so beating Looney's Green, which is an on age A team. Wait until this spring when you get your butts kicked by a lot of AA teams in the outdoor game, where it really counts. What a pathetic organization.

FCA National Team got whooped 11-1 by Rising Sons at Dicks in FL. FCA is an A team certainly not a AA.

. Why would you say that, Fca was the ones who made the statement "fca owns you beats Looney's again". Such bs out of your organization, feel you can say anything you want but when you get deserved pushback you revert to name calling and have a hissy fit. Did coach Kelly teach everyone how to act?

We can only hope there are some adults over in the Howard County Recreation Department or Executive office. The County is disgraceful in their going grade base league when every other team/league in Howard County is age base. They will go down as one of the main reasons that youth Lacrosse is a disgrace now in Maryland. Wonder who was the tool who facilitated all this grade base league in County.
