YJ 2022 Harney 8-0 in last two tournaments' pool play at ND and LFTC. Not too shabby. Pretty good for a B team with a large roster.

Moving forward, would this B team be better served by playing in a higher bracket? Is it better to beat all the B competition or lose to most of the A level competition

You get better by playing better teams

Is it better to beat all the B competition or lose to most of the A level competition All they can do is hit the NJ Turnpike and play the teams on their schedule. They are not an A team and it doesn't look like any organization puts two of their teams in the same pool. So they will continue to need to get out of pool play to be able to play A teams. Glad to see they are doing so well.

What is teams record in playoffs? Every tournament has a different bracket theory, some put all top teams in one bracket and whoever emerges is easily taking the tournament, some spread a top team or two with weaker teams and the better teams play in playoffs, but shorter games typically. You actually have a much easier path to the finals in most tournaments playing in the lower pools. If your team manages to win a tournament or two by beating A teams in the final, then the discussion of being in a A bracket can begin. I wouldn't be looking to jump headlong into top pool at a top tournament. Going 0-8 gets people on the threads as well, just singing a different tune. Your A team is losing pool games in the top bracket, is this team as good or better?

Didn't make playoffs in Ocean City 1-1 at National Draw - lost to YJ 2022 Russell 7-6 in Finals 0-1 at Lax for the Cure - lost to MD Black 2022 who lost to YJ Russell I would say they are below Russell's YJ 2022 A team and M&D Black 2022- one or two player difference. A very solid B team who could beat many A teams, just not YJ and M&D. Summer isn't over yet, though.

Normally you would not see the talent distributed rather evenly between the A and B teams. At some point the best players will be brought to top team and some dropped down. At that point you will see the two teams diverge in competitiveness.

Can Legacy go in and beat TG's this weekend?? Maybe make a statement telling TG that Levy was one of the reasons their program was a top tier team. He seems to be doing the right things down on the south shore.

They are in different pools. Only way to play each other is if they both place either fisrt, second, etc. in their pool and play each other in fourth game. TG in Pool A, Legacy Pool B.

They did play and Top Guns won 7-6 in OT, two very good teams, I was impressed with talent on Legacy for a first year team, I'll tell you one thing, my daughter will take try out over there at Legacy at the end of the season to keep our options open. I enjoy TGs but it's always nice for the kids to have options here on the south shore!!

Inexplicably decided not to play final game. nothing inexplicable. B was missing some girls and a few had prior commitments so they didn't have enough to play championship. No politics here. A is a very strong team with several championships under their belt. B has some really strong players too, why can't it be left at that?

YJ Russell won 3 blowout games, YJ Harney played 2 tough ones, the third game was a walk...the coaches rested the top middies In order for them to be "fresh" for the the championship game against Russell... No real reason why we didn't play,.. Other than waiting the hour for a field..

Did someone really just say they didn't play because they didn't want to wait an hour? Yes that was it. It wasn't the fact that it would've been a blow out on center stage and no one wanted to see that. You are delusional to think it was about waiting an hour.

How about we sll stay home and play Li teams. How would YJ TG EL 91 Legacy and icon all do if they played each other.
Sound like you could get 2 4 team brackets. Break the myth that you hsve to travel and have fun in our back yards and maybe get sometime to enjoy the beach or pool

I completely agree, lets just run tournaments around here and let everyone else who wants to play LI teams to come to us and play. Its starting to get frustrating traveling to tournaments and just playing a team from LI or worse a team from the same Club in the finals.
Years ago Scotty Craig (WI) decided this with the boys lets just play here and if anyone wants to come and play the best competition in the country they will come to us. Why pay for hotels and travel when we can run the best tournaments in the country right here in our backyard

The problem on LI is every club wants their piece of the action so they run their own tournament. It would take an independent organization to offer a tournament and then it would need the pressure from the parents to get the clubs to send the teams to it.
