That statement is completely untrue and he is disappointed someone would post something like that regarding his organization. Prime Time's whole summer has concluded for that 2024 team and his whole organizations programming concludes this weekend. Not original poster but I heard from a reliable source the exact same information about PT. Who is to say that the owner of PT is being truthful about public comments that he makes to BOTC or any other “public” forum? People are less than truthful all of the time, especially when it comes to their business. Think about it, people. What if it’s true? Could it hurt the PT business? You bet your rear it could. Based on that alone, the original anonymous poster is likely a more credible source of information than an owner trying to protect his business. Think about it.

Makes sense to me. PT owner says his season has ended. What a coincidence, his season ends at the exact same time that this information leaks out. Funny, though, since my kids team was scheduled to play play PT today, until PT abruptly ended their season. Coincidence?? I think not.

Great day of lacrosse. Supposed to be no contact but refs are letting them play. Only difference is face off really.

Does anyone know if the Mad Dog 2024 team is folding? Apparently the kids on the team have been trying out a various teams across the state. I heard a few of their better players are leaning towards Blue Star and some of the other kids are going to Garden State Lacrosse???? Used to be a good program but they seem to be struggling to field teams.

91 appears have a charge $75 and looks like a full tryout vs Express which is not cutting and offering new player evals for free. Even the most pessimistic/chronic complainer can’t say much about that. I think that is great.

There really is a sucker born every minute. Express roster will be 40+ this year, of which same 12 kids will actually see the field. That Chan is one smart hombre. Most of those kids will never get off the St Anthony’s JV “B” team. But keep dreaming that dream!

I’m New to travel lacrosse and I’m wondering How the true blue 2024 team is? How are the coaches ? Thinking about going to tryouts for my son.

Your best bet is to go to the tryouts and observe the team, coaches other parents in action and form your own opinions. speak to some parents there if you can, talk to the coaches after.
Dont rely on the keyboard warriors here ( some with an agenda) to help you make a decision.

I've never had my son play for them, but we've played against them and witnessed good coaching. Have heard only good things about True Blue coaching for 2024. Good luck.

Unless you want your son screamed at. I had 3 sons in the program, left last year and my kids have never been happier.

What program? True Blue? 2024 True Blue has great coaches. If my son was happy where he was, I'd go there.

Would agree the TB 2024 team is competitive but a few players short esp on offense from being a very good overall team. Also did not have a full time Fogo kid so possession was tough. Their defense and goalies are very solid and keeps them in games when playing the top teams however when playing defense the whole game they get worn down a bit because the offense doesn’t possess the ball as much. Lost a few good offensive players last year which made it tough but would guess they are in need for attack and midfielders. Coaching is very good and committed and training esp the winter training is great. Great fit if you are located near Massapequa and their tuition is reasonable vs the bigger clubs. Would recommend this team and club for new players to come and evaluate.

“Screaming”? There are few coaches that don’t. It’s an emotional game. Especially with top tier teams. If it’s so important that your kid doesn’t get screamed at, maybe he (and you) are not cut out for a man sport like lacrosse, football, basketball and hockey. Try the sissy sport. Baseball.

Why is it that there are still no teams on the same level as a Taz and 91 at this age, in “the undisputed hot bed of all lacrosse”. Every year, I hear “teams are catching up”, but none ever do. Maybe (or maybe not) you can throw Express in there, but I don’t think Express has ever beaten either team. These kids are in HS now, going on 8 years, they are still all alone at the top. It doesn’t make any sense to me. Can someone please explain that to me?

You’re kidding right? Ask Pack about the Express North, the heat and Eclipse. The sport is growing and parity is upon us. Whether its hold backs out of DMV or work release programs with LaxaC there is plenty of competition in this age group. Madlax, NextLevel, BBL, BrotherlyLove, Eclipse, Express North and several others can play with these Taz and Pack.

You are right there are a FEW coaches that don’t. What other organizations does the director come to a team’s sideline and start screaming at the kids. I’ve been it this for 10 years and only the TB director Feels the need to micro manage his coaches

Stop. Taz plays with anyone. Beat Badlax handily, although admittedly that’s not saying much since everyone now beats Badlax. Cheater teams like Badlax will enjoy their steady decline the rest of the way. Most on age teams experienced their growth spurt this year, so they have all caught up to the holdback teams who got their growth spurt last year or the year before. The big kids from last year no longer are the big kids. And the little kids of last year are no longer the little kids. There are no more “dominant big kids” anymore. They all blend in. This is when the top on age teams, who were always the better skilled teams, will take significant strides, since the playing field is now more level than its ever been. Teams like Taz and 91, who competed and usually beat the holdback teams with far younger, prepubescent players, will now dominate the postpubescent years.

Serious question have a B player looking for a spot. Where is the majority of the Rebels second team from? Heard a few place but want to confirm. How many players are they carrying and what will their skill level be?

Beat Badlax handily? When? Over a year ago? Couldn't get to the final in Florida at New Years (a tourney Madlax won) and then got beat handily by Madlax in Hershey last month? Or weren't you there?

I would stay away from any Rebels second team. This year all their second teams were a disaster. 2025 second team did not have enough players to field a team. They basically cancelled their season when players on the top teams couldn’t come down to help. The 2027 team had similar problems and got crushed

I’m only familiar with one B team, and I will say, the 91 B team is no joke. They practice, and take it as seriously as the A team. Treated the same. I definitely recommend it.

They are what they are. Simply, they are inferior teams with inferior athletes with inferior lacrosse players. Cheating with 2023-age kids is no longer enough of an advantage to be successful. What to do?? How about replacing those MD holdbacks with some real on-age talent from the island??

It’s true. My sons team was totally different this summer than they were a year ago. My son was always one of the smallest kids on the field. He grew 5 inches and gained 40 lbs in the past year. Needless to say he is no longer the “small kid”. Not a unique story. Many/most of the kids on his on-age team had similar growth in the past year. And the big kids that dominated a year ago are now basically invisible. A very different landscape now.

Now that’s funny! Madlax beat Taz handedly at NAL. They even started gets that don’t usually play and Madlax beat the snot out of them. It wasn’t even close. I’d love to see Wolfpack up and go home come out of hiding. They shouldn’t even be ranked in the top 20 anymore! Total joke that team is....

91 treats all of their B teams, with the exception of the 2023 team, like [ChillLaxin] redhaired step children. You get stuck in all the crappy MyLacrosseMafia touraments playing the worst of the worst. Maybe the 2024 B coach is excellent, but he's got no say in what the team does and it will never amount to anything. For 91, a B team is just $$$$.

If you going to tell me the ménace gets treated the same by 91 as the wolfpack......I would say you are on something. Don’t do the B teams of the bigger club. If your kid is a fringe a/b player you are much better going and playing for one of the smaller clubs

Madlax 2024 squad is in trouble. Two starting ATTACKMAN, went to NL. Two starting defenseman, also gone. Their best midi. Gone. As well as several other midi’s. Last count was 8 players defected to other clubs.

More St A’s kids, no doubt, that will never make it off their JV B team. Hey Express parents, take a good look at the St A’s starters over past few years. A lot of them are NOT Express players. Get your kid on a team where he can actually “play” and in the process, get better. That’s his best chance at getting playing time on St A’s, at some point. Sitting on the bench, on a bad A team, will not help with that.

Are they better off on true blues 16 man roster? It Sounds like Their having a hard time drawing kids. I wonder why ?

These parents crack me up. They seem to think that they have it all figured out and know all the players at this age and speak in generalizations about players and programs. Yes there are b teams and a teams and aa teams. While the team may be b or a it doesn’t mean there are no aa or a PLAYERS on those so called labeled b teams. I’ve seen yr in and yr out and as kids hit puberty it is a game changer. Not just physically but mentally and the kids that want it, aren’t burnt out are the ones that play and succeed. Often times these are the players who were the the top players from many years ago but also players that play on these so called b teams or second tier programs. Remember nobody cares about team results in hs it is all about individual play. I also know for sure some of these players on these so called tier 2 programs and besides a few making an aa or top team, some of them can prob even start. Wait as time will tell but enjoy the ride as it goes by fast. Also worry about your own kid and don’t care what other kids do and don’t do.

Spot on post. And no, I’m not the parent of a B team kid. Quite the contrary. My son is an extremely talented player and has been a starter in a top AA team since day one. I have no doubt he will be in high demand with D1 coaches in another couple of years. But I have another son who has already been through the process as a very average B player, so I’ve experienced it from both sides. My older boy ended up going D3 and had an incredible amount of success. But this story is about one of his friends who my son played town ball with. The boy didn’t make either the A or B 91 teams. Didn’t make some other squads either. Finally landed on the Express B team where he stayed throughout his club career. That boy ended up being a HS All American for our HS team and ended up playing D1 at Stonybrook, with a scholarship. Started every game since his sophomore year at SB. Moral of the story is, none of the rankings, or teams right now mounts to a hill of beans. Put your son in the best possible position to be successful when it matters. Meaning, make sure the boy is getting plenty of reps via tons of game time experience. There is no substitute for game experience. Then sit back and let the chips fall where they may. And enjoy the quick ride. Because before you know it, this whole thing is just a distant memory. Good luck.

Great Game between TAZ and WP, 2 great teams. TAZ won the day 3-0. I watched first 2 games. TAZ seems to have more depth. WP basically doesn’t use have there bench and seems TAZ plays all. Just my observation. Talented as heck teams..

On LI it’s really Taz and Wolfpack on their own. Then express A is clearly not as good, but also clearly better than the rest of the B teams. Then a whole lot of parity in there before you get to the C teams

Express is what they have always been. An A team defense and a B team offense. Nothing to do with bad coaching. Everything to do with bad recruitment. Talent on offense just is not there. At all. And big kid-run-to-the-goal and score no longer works. Everyone is now a “big kid”.

What you don’t realize is, the WP playing time was dominated by players that didn’t see the field against Taz. That score was completely managed by the coach through playing time of his bench, and the final outcome was NEVER in doubt. Sorry to burst your bubble, but your team belongs where they are. The bottom dwellers of the A division. And based on the offense that I witnessed on Sunday, that isn’t going to change any time soon. What’s next for Express? The B division with Igloo?

Has the pack even played a game since last summer?

They lost to Express, Eclipse (Playday) and now Taz. It’s not the same dominant team as last year and without #3 not even in the top 5 in the country. Although the have a lot of talent he does everything for them FO, scores, plays defense and is great in transition. Pack had depth last year. Not the case right now. That was one of the pieces that made them special was when the second line kids could play with any other teams first line. Your seeing the wheels being run off of the first line Pack players. Still a silly conversation since they are one of the top teams in the country just not the best on LI.

My opinion - save the flame wars, you don't have to agree

Legacy Taz - smart guy who knows how to coach the game. AA team.

91 WP - Some of the coaches are egotistical meatheads. But the results speak for themselves. AA team.

Rush - super smart, detail oriented coach with a team that has minimal talent. Still, if you watch them play, they're very well coached. B- team. A+ coaching.

Legacy Launch - another smart coach who knows the game. A relatively new team but one that has steadily improved year after year. A or A- team.

Express O'Reilly - the coach is an aquired taste but teaches the game. Stern but fair would be a good decription. And your 9th grader may still learn a few new words ... B team.

I'd be okay with my kid playing for any one of these teams. Hope that helps.

Same two-horse race it’s always been on LI. Taz and WP. So far in this young season, they have split games although the point differential is heavily in 91’s favor. Looking forward to the next matchup of these two great teams! Shame that there isn’t a single team on the island that can play with either one. They are counting the scrimmage the prior week but failing to mention they lost to Express 7 to 1.

That seems Like a very accurate assessment. It’s simple Get with a program that will teach your kids. If they aren’t Constantly teaching your just wasting your money. If your team hasn’t made progress in years it’s very telling of the leadership. If it’s going Backwards then why are you still there. If it’s showing progress and growth then enjoy the moments because time goes very fast. Make sure your in the right program.

Where’s the “parody” preacher? I don’t see it. A couple of teams have emerged as top tier in the past year, such as Eclipse, but other than a couple of teams, the 2024 landscape is exactly as it has been since the beginning. Exact same teams still rising to the top and Taz is right there where we always are. At the top with Wolfpack. Express gave it a run for a year or two, but still couldn’t beat the big dogs, even with all their Huge holdbacks. Now they are just left with substandard older players, that aren’t even bigger anymore. No parody on LI. Same ole same ole.

When does the holdback stuff go away? I know 2 kids that are holdbacks, have summer birthdays, and repeated a grade at a very early age. IF your kids plays in college, will you still be posting about the 20 year old freshman from Canada? There is no use complaining. On LI, for the most part, holdbacks were created at an early stage, and are NOT lax related.

Launch has been Taz free for two seasons. When the team was started, they needed players and some of the Taz boys helped out. It was very nice of them.

This guy or chick is full of BS. Launch “borrowed” the top player on Wolfpack, who is arguably the best player in the entire grade, for a recent tournament. The Launch coach is the boys HS head coach. In previous years, Launch “borrowed” ONLY the very best Taz players on multiple occasions. Not Taz kids from the bottom half of the roster, who see little to no playing time. ONLY the best of the best players from Taz. This coach and team is as low as it gets. Poaching elite AA players in order to win a t-shirt at a B tourney. Hard to comprehend the level of low that this represents. The Launch coach is total TRASH!!!

Launch has beaten within the past few months Igloo A&B, Rush, Rebels, True Blue, Turtles and Express O'Reilly and stay within 2-3 goals of Express S and kept PrimeTime, who was excellent this summer, to 4 goals. Pack and Taz are still out of reach, hats off to them. Great teams and they deserve the respect they get.

I know for sure that Launch used the Taz FO kid last year in a B tournament. Leopard doesn’t change its spots.

Launch parents have nothing to brag about, beating B teams by borrowing top AA players. In fact, you should be embarrassed and ashamed to have your son play for such a coach and organization. Think about the paying player/family who’s playing time is being stolen by these invited guests. Shameful.

Launch has a known history of cheating, which began two years ago (or maybe earlier) to present. Personally, I could care less about any B team. But when people come on here beating their chests about their cheater team, I’ll be here to set the record straight. Launch can’t win without cheating with borrowed AA players. If they could, then the coach would take pride in his team, and play with what he has. But he doesn’t do that. The coach and the team is a total joke.

He “invites” all of his top SWR 2024 players that play for WP and Taz to play on his launch team, whenever they don’t have a tournament with their respective club teams. Express dad here! We played launch a few weeks ago and We’re lucky to beat them 5-4 while taz and wp played on the field next to us. There was no borrowed players just the launch team and they were very competitive.

MD dad here....Big Middie from Mad Lax moved on from MAD LAX in 7th grade, he went to Next Level and he isn’t that big anymore comparatively. He was playing attack for Next Level and is now attending a boarding school somewhere up in New England these days. So you are absolutely correct, he was a non-factor (seeing as how he wasn’t there)! Mad Lax also lost a few other players this past summer. No excuse’s....Mad Lax and TAZ were 1-1 on the day. Both teams are respectable and played well.

I've seen so many kids that are superstars in practice that are useless in games. Tell them to take a lacrosse ball and throw it 1000 ft in the air and catch it with their eyes closed between their toenails and they can do it. Can do anything a coach asks better then anyone in practice but it disappears in games. You need to play in games to perform in games. Being successful in practice is easy because you know everyone you are practicing against. Whole different ball game against other teams in games. If anyone tells you its more important to practice with better kids and not play then to play with not as good kids then immediately cover your ears. Don't be happy with being a practice squad player if you are paying 3k for it. Get your kid somewhere else.

You are missing the point. If your kid is playing on a AA team its well worth it. You are playing with the best kids of the age group. Its a much Higher paced game, faster, stronger and better IQ of the game. That's a fact.

Seems like everywhere these days everything is split, we all see it a little differently. I don't see what bad mouthing a program accomplishes, I def don't see what bad mouthing a coach accomplishes and I really don't know how a grown up spells clever as cleaver but this is the world today, I'm sure there are kids that are great in practice but not in a game so you find a program that caters to your likings, there are programs that don't have the SWR coach so others go there and be happy, there are programs that are inexpensive so some go there... there's something for everyone.

I kinda agree with this guy. AA teams play at a completely different level than non-AA teams. A whole different animal. So, is it beneficial to practice with AA teams, if your kid is not a true AA player? Of course it is. But it’s also extremely important to get quality game reps. There is no substitute for game experience. So who’s right? Real tough call. Ideally, the best option is to play on both, but not always plausible. Most people will likely take the AA option, since typically the goal of most players is to get on the best team you can, and then fight for playing time. If you have to pick one, I think you go that route. Go with the AA team.

Very little movement for A teams the rest of the way. The only movement that igloo could see is a continued exit of “good” igluoo players to good teams. BTW. Taz, WP and Express send their sincere thanks for all the talent you have sent their way over the past two years. Igluoo has been a great feeder team to those successful programs. Unfortunately, the 2024 Windchill team is destined for B Fournier for the next 3 years.

My boy was on 24 Lacrosse a couple years ago. They did same thing. Needless to say he’s not on that team anymore. I don’t think they even exist anymore. Go figure.

Lots of teams B teams do that. Left Launch due to that 2 years ago. Went somewhere else and they did same thing. Left there too.

It's good business and all clubs do it. They take 23 - 30 kids knowing only 15-18 will play. The rest either are happy anyway and stay for whatever their reason or leave and are replaced by someone else. The ones who leave go to another club. Their kid either plays there causing other people to leave for greener pastures, or they don't and the kid leaves and trys somewhere else. Either way, kids move teams and clubs and the cycle repeats itself.

Clubs make money. Unrealistic parents get fleeced. Unrealistic people get fleeced anyway so there is no difference with this and anything else.

Our AA team roster ballooned to 26 this fall as we added 4 new players but no one was cut. Granted all 4 can absolutely play but the roster is getting a little crowded. As far as I know we havent had a guest player in a couple of years. We have had players come in who generally weren't as good as the starter and it was a sort of "tryout" but none of them have stuck.

My son was on Launch. We also left due to this consistent problem. New team doesn’t do it. I’m friends with parents on Express, Taz and Wolfpack and I know as fact they have never done it. I have to agree, any coach that thinks this is ok is a cheater. Love to look at his taxes.

PA kid was on Express when he played for them. Not borrowed. Nice try though. No AA teams on LI use players from other teams. Parents wouldn’t allow it. And most B teams don’t allow it either. Takes a special kind of coach that puts winning at all costs, over developing players on his own team. A coach that cares nothing about the kids he is getting paid to develop. Launch coach should move to DC and work for Maddux at Madlax. As slimey as youth sports gets. Then again, even those parents tired of him. All best players are long gone! Then again, Madlax was an AA team. Launch is an average B team at best. So really can’t compare, except that both are coached by vermine.

Because my kid is on one of the best lacrosse teams in the country, that is coached by top coaches, who are stand up honorable men, who care far more about developing my kids lacrosse abilities than winning a freaking t shirt. And the majority of the teams that they play are similar quality coaches, teams and families.

But there are always going to be bad apples out there, low life teams like Launch with low character coaching that teach the same to their players. That’s just the way life is. Comes down to “good” vs “evil”. Some people have such bad character that they don’t know right from wrong. In society, we incarcerate such individuals. In lacrosse, they congregate on bad teams like launch. Eventually, many of those will undoubtedly end up incarcerated. Once a dishonest chest, always a dishonest chest.

Seems to me only launch is being trashed because they aren’t good enough to play other teams with the players they have. So they cheat. Trash teams with trash coaches should be trashed and I for one am thankful that he exposed this team for what they truely are. LI’s trashiest team. Team Undoubtedly won’t exist, come August.

Launch SWR coach only asks SWR WP and Taz players to steal playing time from his paying launch customers, so no. I don’t feel bad. Not from SWR. If I was, my AA son would NEVER play on any B team. Completely unethical and unconscionable.

I am perplexed by the thread and the constant reference to cheating. These are TRAVEL teams. They pull from everywhere. It happens in every sport. Look at AAU basketball in the summer. If these were town teams I would agree with the sentiments on this list but if a team wants to comprise their TRAVEL team with 20 boys from 20 states then who cares.

Yes express played really well the first 2 games with an insane D-fence and an outstanding goalie(#10). Big things ahead for this team all starting off with there fogo. They move the ball very well on offense but just didn’t bring the same energy in the last game.

The new holdbacks on offense really make a difference I guess.

Our team was there. Played ELI a couple of times in the past. This is an enormously improved team. That defense is stout. Fogo is dominant. Hope to play them more soon. Our team will surely get better playing them. A+.

Does anyone know how many freshmen play (and START!) Varsity in top 10 programs in LI? Maybe this parent is on to something.

no one is doing that, When a parent comes on BOTC bragging that their team is going to beat teams they never beat, maybe 1 win in 40 games, someone has to correct the record.

Not true. My kid would have been on varsity in 9th grade last fall if covid didn't shut down the season. Not because he is this amazing lacrosse player, but his school varsity team is so bad that anyone who can cradle the length of the field without dropping the ball and has enough size to not get destroyed by 12th graders would have made the varsity team in our district.

Lots of 9th graders start on varsity teams. And good ones too. Skilled, gifted players, that have played the game for 10 years, can play with anyone, as long as they have sufficient size to do so. Since many/most kids hit their growth spurt in 8th grade, there is no longer a huge difference in size between many 9th graders and 12th graders. In fact, for many of these players who were undersized until hitting puberty, it’s actually far easier playing against 12th graders than playing against post-pubescent holdbacks, a year or two ago. So, for many of these kids, it’s easier for them then it’s ever been since playing the sport.

Incorrect. My kid is starting on varsity this year, and the team is a good team. It happens. I can think of a handful or more kids that I know will start this year, and that’s just the kids that I know. If your frame of reference is a true AA team, then you undoubtedly know of some too. Although some haven’t even been told yet.

There won’t be 5 top teams in Suffolk. There will be 3. In no particular order they will be Mt Sinai, Shoreham and Bayport. Kids appear to be staying in town to play HS ad not going to Catholics. Nassau is less clear, since many top players go to St A’s and Chaminade.

Those 3 teams are stacked. Both 2023’s and 2024’s. Certainly the teams to beat on the island. Although I have to give the edge to SWR and BBP, over Sinai.

Prob should put WM in that conversation.

Two best 2024 LI teams are Taz and 91. Not arguable. Close to a third of those players are from SWR and BBP. 2023’s are equally strong for both towns. They will have a ton of talent and abundant depth, as upperclassman. Once the 2023’s graduate, Sinai will fall out of the conversation, and quite possibly before that. Not enough depth at the ‘23 and ‘24 level. Just my opinion.

Many prep schools are not allowing their students to leave schools due to COVID. BBL Black and Express North lost to 2 Way last weekend both didn’t have key players.

Not sure how many BBL was missing but Express North missing 5-6 key contributors. Still give 2-Way credit they won fair and square.
