Jealousy? No; it is a real issue. Why doesn’t Madlax compete in WSYL?

Simple. Some people/families dont feel like spending 5k on a tournament. Travelling all over the place. When there is good competition down the street. Waste. Of. Time. And. $$$$...

And I don't think it's much of a stretch to state by time a kid turns 17-18 he's already reached his max growth and physical potential. So at that point does it really matter as to when his exact birthday is. If your kid is good he will be successful...

We all recognize that when 17&18 yrs of age come's around what goes on. We all recognize that school sports are grade driven. But This is a Youth sport! Believe me there are No scholarships given out at these tournaments(just tee shirts) Youth sports need to have enforced age requirements. I don't even care what dob date is chosen. Just as long as all clubs and tournaments are held accountable to verify that dob date, and give a fair and equal playing field for everyone. Please don't hand me the life lessons [ChillLaxin] of playing with older kids and getting used to losing because it is a part of life. That is the worst argument that can be made. (hey Johnny you are older please go teach that younger boy a life lesson by beating or taking his spot.He will thank you when he is your age)
Why is age based so hard agree and comply with? Any parent opposed to having age rules put in place must have an agenda.

This is a joke and everyone knows it. These travel teams are a business and any owner that wouldn't want his business to be promoted on the biggest stage is a terrible businessman, or hiding something. 9d1 Leeg-acy and Express have all benefited by taking part and winning the WSYL. Please stop telling people that an entire program doesn't go to the WSYL because it is a "money maker".

As predicted, [ChillLaxin] LI dads making up lies about holdbacks when they have no idea what they're talking about (let alone proof). Your insecurities translate to your sons' performances on the field.

That's why Madlax is still the best.

Common knowledge that all competitive MD teams have a lot of holdbacks, so stop with the [ChillLaxin]. It’s the culture in MD (and “Capital”). Win by loading up on holdbacks. No team can win anything without their core players. The MD/VA parents are correct. It would be a total waste of money for them to go and be smacked around like rag dolls without their holdbacks. The funny thing is, if they did go with all of their holdbacks, an LI on age Team would still win. Yes... on age. A foreign concept to some.

Madlax is a top 5 team. No better. No worse. Take just one of their many holdbacks off their team, and most people reading this have never heard of Madlax. Anybody other than a Madlax parent want to dispute that?

Not sure what the LI rules are. Not saying it’s not an advantage, by the way, but it is limited. Also when you hit puberty matters, so does natural size and speed, and AA teams tend to attract those types which maybe amplifies the difference for parents of smaller kids or late blooming kids.

Forget about the school aspect of it - it has everything to do with club.

That's where you are wrong. Just because your kid is small, doesn't mean that everyone else in this world is a cheater. If you were to examine all the 2024 club lacrosse rosters in the country, 95% of them don't have any boys older than July 2005. And for 100% of those boys with July or August 2005 birthdays, it was a school-related decision that was made when the kid was 4. Even if your kid was born late 2006, they should be able to hang with kids born mid-2005. If not, drop down to a B team, and give it a rest. Because once your kid gets to high school, he is going to have to play grade-based anyway.

Most HS players don't get significant playing time, on good teams, until their Junior year, after they catch up growth-wise. Same for football. So, it's the same issue even in HS.

how many travel clubs can 1 boy play on? Is it possible to be on multiple travel teams? Why do clubs allow this?

Just need to be on one good one. More than one is overkill. College coaches (i know its early but going through with my older son now) look for loyalty when they are recruiting. They ask how many years you have played for your club, and which director they should talk to.

Where is this limited and why should it be?! And why would a club not take a player's money?!

if a child plays for more then one team, who cares. Their choice. If they want to pay the money let them. No debate on this subject . If a club decides to make a big deal about it, that's their choice. If there is no conflict why make it a big deal.

Your lies are so very lame. First, club directors and coaches pick tourneys, not parents. So your lame excuse is dispelled right there. It's not a parents decision. But there is more. Much more.

So you are saying the Madlax club directors/owners have no interest in putting what you claim to be the best team at this age, on national TV, with all of the free publicity that goes along with that, and to be proclaimed the indisputable best U13 team, anywhere?

Based on your repeated claims, a WSYL championship would be a forgone conclusion. Easy pickings, right? Assuming your claims are accurate, this is a no-brainer for your directors. It would be a total vindication of the Madlax coaching, training and ideologies for the organization, as a whole. A possible once in a life time opportunity, to build the Madlax brand.

The national visibility would surely create an abundance of credibility for the organization, with the net result being significant increased revenue, over the long term. All of this upside, with no downside, since the tourney costs the club no more than any other tourney.

You are asking us to believe all of this?? REALLY?? You're absolutely sure it has nothing to do with all of your age-ineligible hold backs, correct??

I would imagine this is about Taz, based on the EI reference.
I highly doubt that any wheels are falling off anything, though. Just another guy wishing they would.

When my son's team played Taz, there were 6-7 dads/coaches looming behind bench. That is never a good sign. Too many cooks. Creates a toxic environment for kids. I would avoid at all costs. Also they run a girls' offense with goal line extended feeder and cutters. Never going to cut it at next level. When the boys did try to dodge or create their own offense, they backed it like they were scared. No real athletes.

No athletes, bad coaching, horrible environment on Taz. What was the score of you sons game? I'm guessing they lost which would be odd bc u just explained that the team has nothing. My sons team has lost every single time he played them. Can't believe he lost to such a horrible team 10+ times

If Zummo can conquer the daddy ball coaching I'd be surprised ,being all the coaches are also board members!!!LOL
The right move to make the team and program better would be to bring in his own coaching staff and send the daddy's to 2025 to go fix that team.
Zummo would also have to show up more often than not and not just be a part time stand in.
I believe he is still coaching another age group as well
