[quote=Anonymous][quote=Anonymous]Pretty sure Jones received her orders to never let that happen again.
Jones was also the 1st year yj. Jones won 4-3 and no other game was close. This is 2 years in a row wright beats Thorn not good for yj big changes on the way. I wish "big changes" would happen. The tough part is implementation. Clearly the better coach should have the better team. Unfortunately there are politics and huge egos involved. BT and SG clearly can't develop young players. CR says winning is everything. We'll see. Cleary the better coach is Wright, not Thorn. This just proves that last years win wasn't a fluke. YJ should reevaluate who they have coaching their A team. Well said! Before you knock the coaches take a look at the players on Thorns team. She can only do so much with that group of players she needs to add talent. C'mon an. You have got to be kidding me. She cherry picked for 2. Years in a row. Maybe she and her cohort can't evaluate talent.

Sorry but Thorn is loaded with friends and family and connected kids. They are not going anywhere because they are worth big $$$. Get used to it and if you are on the second team just suck it up. Enjoy the wins but it won't change a thing.

Really not a lot of quality coaching going on in this program in the early ages (4th -7th grades) at all. The YJ is more of a collection. A collection of talent that they poach from other programs. When the team struggles they go and find more talent to make the team better. Easier than developing their own talent. Other programs out there provide more coaching and do it on a more consistent basis. But the YJ has created a machine in which people feel they need to be there to be recruited. If your child is anything but a top player you will find nothing but frustration with this program.

Well said! That was a close game, and like was stated earlier, Wright develops her girls, they improve as the season goes on, while Thorn remains stagnant as frustration grows over aspects such as lack of playing time and favoritism. The result has been the same for two years now. I watched that game, Wright girls not only appeared more athletic and skilled on the field, but played as more of a team. Before you knock the coaches take a look at the players on Thorns team. She can only do so much with that group of players she needs to add talent. Well, then how do you explain Thorn beating Wright in the beginning of the season genius?

Thorn should be able to put her more talented girls out there sit back and watch. Obviously the talent level between the two teams is close and from your perspective the game is being decided by who has the better coach.

The days of just flipping over the ball bag sitting back and yelling go to goal are OVER. Enough with the connected college kids and lets get some teachers of lacrosse

Most other clubs provide twice the organized team practice through the club as part of their program. (20 compared to 10). There are other clubs that provide team based fall and winter training as well. Do your research. Some YJ teams train year round but that is only because they are lucky enough to have a parent(s) who organize and do it. Some teams get plenty of time together while other only see each other at ten practices and the tourns. Look at 2021 Skak, if it wasn't for the parents on that team they would only practice 4 times a year. The ones who seek and train the most on the outside are the ones who end up on the top teams (or they come from other programs).

Shouldn't parents demand more from this program? Is this how must top YJ operate?

Tell me, who is running the extra practice and training, you? Do the parents have to pay extra for this so called extra training? What a joke. You expect parents to embrace the fact that the guy who probably never played the game is going to coach their daughters. Let me guess, you coached you girl in PAL? Well, that certainly qualifies you to coach at this level. You’re an idiot, go watch some more YouTube vids on shuttles and other practice drills. Daddy coach means you just want to make sure your kid makes the team and gets playing time even though she doesn’t deserve it.

The skak team has a few fathers that have organized things throughout the year to make their girls better, girls on their team became better and one sometimes they have actually included girls from other programs in some of the things they have done. No one made any money, and girls had good opportunities to get better and many parents were grateful for their efforts from several programs.

Idiotic remark…you must be the Daddy coach. You have it all wrong, Skak team is blessed to have someone actually coach since the actual coach no longer shows any interest in this team. However, once daddy coaches daughter commits he will drop this gig like a hot potato. The skak team has a few fathers that have organized things throughout the year to make their girls better, girls on their team became better and one sometimes they have actually included girls from other programs in some of the things they have done. No one made any money, and girls had good opportunities to get better and many parents were grateful for their efforts from several programs. The above comments are 100% true. Girls from Skak and many other clubs had a ball all winter long playing lacrosse without worrying what club they played for. The only thing that mattered was having fun and hopefully gaining in their knowledge of the sport. I for one was grateful for the opportunity for my daughter.

[quote=Anonymous][quote=Anonymous][quote=Anonymous]Really not a lot of quality coaching going on in this program in the early ages (4th -7th grades) at all. Please name some othe LI based programs that have better coaching and development to younger players? The skak team has a few fathers that have organized things throughout the year to make their girls better, girls on their team became better and one sometimes they have actually included girls from other programs in some of the things they have done. Non YJ and I don't know anything about the ins and out of how the 2021 teams are coached or run at YJ. But my daughter and about 50 other girls from at least 7-8 different towns representing at least 5-6 maybe more clubs participated in a great winter program that was arranged by a father on that team. He had some great college bound girls teach as well as other who knew what they were talking about (yes some were fathers who knew the sport). Every girl got a great experience, we were/are very grateful to him for organizing this. So like they say it takes a village.... Same goes for lacrosse. So not only did YJ girls get better, 50 girls in the age division on LI got better. Thank you!!

Nib it in the Bud early! no way can fire him with his name. The both of them were made for each other. Both not liked unless you are in their inner circle. But they both recruit great

Think it's funny how teams from Maeyland do not attend tournaments on LI in girls lacrosse but do in boys. Would like to see some of these big tournaments stay on the island

Please name some othe LI based programs that have better coaching and development to younger players? if you do not have a dedicated parent who can arrange extra practices and training your team is in trouble. Think with some of the older teams there should be committed teams and uncommitted teams. The dedication falls off once a majority of kids commit and teams are left short handed

Things are improving w skak team Because the season is over? Let's be honest, this summer was a disaster for the almighty Skak. So does CR have any tricks up her sleeve or can we just expect a further slide next summer?

So does CR have any tricks up her sleeve or can we just expect a further slide next summer? I missed when Skak was almighty. One win over M&D last summer makes them almighty? Didn't M&D beat them twice and tie them in the other three tournament games they played last year? Also didn't M&D beat them the previous summer?
